I installed TWRP for Z1 Compact but there is no driver so ADB cannot find the device. I am using Windows 8.1 and I disabled driver signature verification. What could be the problem?

I'm still having this problem too. In Windows 7 home edition. Tried installing program and drivers in every compatability mode on the machinebut flashtool refuses to work still can't get pc companion too work either. Flashtool work's fine on my old vaio Vista laptop but pcc doesn't anymore, does pcc work on rooted phones as that's the only reason I can think of that would stop it working. I'm about ready to take a hammer to this new laptop I got is driving me nuts

PC Companion will work on rooted phones. You can't use it to reflash your stock ROM if your bootloader is unlocked though.

I just can't understand how on my vaio laptop flashtool works l like a charm. No driver problems or owt, on my hp pavilion with specs loads better than the vaio flashtool will install but constantly say drivers need installing you can find them in the driver's folder even tried installing every driver still no joy. As for pcc that now refuses to work on either laptop. I know on the hp I have some sort of mtp driver problem but it won't install for love nor money Adb works fine on both machines too I'm baffled must of spent hrs trying to sort this out.

drivers for flashtool

Hi!
Sorry I'm not sure whether I'm posting in the right thread, but .... :cowboy:
I got an E4g dual and currently it is not supported by flashtool, though Androxyde told me next version will support it. Actually with the Head revision from git I could (probably successfully) decrypt a downloaded update from PC companion. But to do create a ftf file I need a working device as it is in the devices repository. Is there any documentation how to create these files or can someone guide me?
Thanks to all
Chris

Which folder I put these files?
Installed PC Companion, connected the Z5, it was recognized. I have drivers that I need in my Win 10 already?
Unzip and put this files on local disk.
Connect a phone to PC, if you'll get an notification window for unknown device, choose to install drivers from folder you unziped a drivers.
Theoretically, after you install PC Companoin, you already have drivers.
Do you want to flash you phone via flashtool? Why do you need to install additional drivers? I need to know to help you.

Tks !! Always flash my Z2!I never had a problem! What I am afraid is FSC do not understand what it is! I remember the last time I flash my Z2, appeared a window stating that he had found the FSC to the respective instrument and I clicked on YES. I'm afraid it in Z5!

The FlashTool is fully compatible with the Z5?

Yes, it is.
Try version 18.5/6, this versions supposed to support also Z5 (look at devices folder, after install app, you'll see E58xx\E66XX) or try the latest version with the patch!
I saw some comments in flashtool tread, that all working fine.

    FlashTool Xperia Driver Pack!

Windows drivers for all the Xperia devices in a single package!

    Latest Release: v1.5
    Build Date: 2014/03/18

    [ info ]

    Hi all,

we have been using our beloved Xperia phones for quite some time now and we know how annoying it is when we cant find correct drivers for a new device or on a new PC!

Androxyde had worked on incorporating all the drivers right inside flashtool and we have been suppling them as "Flashtool-driver.exe" with every flashtool release for windows!

But since the driver release and flashtool release are not always in sync we have decided to also release this drivers pack separately!

hence forth we will be maintaining this thread and keep releasing updated Xperia drivers as and when they become available on Sony website

    hope this helps!

For those who are having drivers problem in windows 8.1 and/or cant get to flash mode or fastboot mode just go to system32/drivers and replace these attached files with the orignal one with administrative access.. and restart your computer .Assuming you have both Sony Pc companion and flashtool installed try to connect your phone again and hurraahhhh phone should be connected..:fingers-crossed: :D

For people having issues on Windows 8/8.1

Works on Windows 8. I believe it should also work on Windows 8.1.

All you need to do is disable driver signature enforcement:
    1. Open the Charms Bar in Windows 8 /8.1 and select “Settings”
    2. Select “Change PC Settings”
    3. Select “General”
    4. Go to the bottom of the page and select “Restart Now” under “Advanced Start-Up”
    5. Select “Troubleshoot”
    6. Select “Advanced Options”
    7. Select “Start-Up Settings”
    8. Select the Restart button
    9. Press "7" from your Keyboard.
    10. After restart, you can install normally!
