Updated Drivers to version 4.1.0.001.
Two important note, from here on out I will also be including fast links for the Sync setup files (HTC Sync and Sync Manager), as well as a SyncManager_XXXXX_STRIPPED.exe which will literally be ONLY the Sync Manager program, all drivers stripped out from it (as in, it won't install any drivers, hence a much smaller file size).

You will now be able to find the FULL setup files for HTC Sync and Sync Manager inside the Original HTC Sync Folder of the linked mediafire folder in the OP. This will provide a much faster download if you do want to install either one, rather than a capped speed download from the HTC site itself.

Well here's the changelog

i'm using a Dell UltraXPS12, I7, Windows 8 Pro laptop and cannot get the fastboot drivers to work. Driver version 2.07.17. I get the following error message: This device cannot start. (Code 10). A request for the USB BOS descriptor failed. Additional details include: Device USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0\HT349W909374 had a problem starting.

Service: HTCAND64
Lower Filters:
Upper Filters:
Problem: 0xA
Status: 0x0

I tried the suggested methods for Windows 8, but no luck. ADB drivers work fine. Any suggested troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

I thought I was having a Win 8 problem, but it turned out to be some sort of USB issue. The drivers worked ok in any USB port for doing file transfers, but when I wanted to use fastboot these drivers (and the older Win 7 ones) would only work via the USB 2.0/eSata port on my laptop.

Did you try the workaround posted by KidCarter93 a couple posts back?
yep, i tried those as well. i wonder if my issue is because i have USB 3.0 ports... i have a Sony Vaio with Win 8 Pro installed and i have no problem using fastboot on that computer... thanks for the suggestions.

I still have an issue with file transfer (HTC currently unable to get MTP drivers working...), will fastboot still be able to connect?

I tried this solution for my above problem, but my usb ports stopped working altogether. (simple rollback driver from dev mgr fixes it)

Maybe someone else here will have more luck:

I can't install the mtp driver, it gives me an installation error..help!
Same here HTC support have given up trying to fix after 2 weeks, they suggested it might be a problem with some versions of .net framework
Odd as we have another identical specification PC which installed MTP drivers fine...

cannot get window 7 64 bit to read any usb activity

I've searched through several posts, tried many different programs drivers and other things. I cannot get windows to install ANY drivers for this phone. When I first got an htc evo 4g I followed flashing and rooting instructions and had no problems. The Usb charging port detached from the phones board and I ordered a new phone. Suddenly windows will not read the NEW phone. (says unknown device in device manager, not unknown htc device, not android device, just straight unknown device period) I tried running the uninstall old drivers, (nothing happens that I can tell) tried reinstalling windows, and any time I try to use any of the .exe files or .msi files, it seems that nothing happens at all. No error messages, (except a newer version has already been installed on this machine, even after running remove old htc drivers.) I've tried uninstalling through device manager, after installing sync and sync manager still nothing. My sd card wont even come up in windows explorer. I tried updating the drivers with new .inf files and everything. I have USB debugging enabled and allow mock locations enabled and have tried with fastboot enabled and disabled. Upon trying to manually install the x64 drives it says the devie isn't compatible and to make sure I am installing 64 bit drivers for the device....which I am.

I'm not sure why the computer suddenly quit recognizing the phone and even more baffled why it refuses to do much of anything when connecting the phone to the computer, (not even read the sd card in windows explorer.) any ideas?
