DRM Keys

Hello,

I know that unlocking the bootloader on Sony devices deletes the DRM keys and that it's possible to back them up. I've already lost the DRM keys on my Sony tablet, because the Sony website doesn't mention anything about them, when requesting an unlock key.

My issue with this is with Netflix. If you want to use a custom Kernel and have an unlocked Bootloader you don't have the DRM Keys and thus can't use Netflix. The only way I know of to get Netflix to work, is to use a Stock Kernel and restore the DRM key backup.

Is there any other way? I don't want to buy another Sony device, if I can't use a custom Kernel and Netflix at the same time. Does anybody know if this is possible?

I don't think Netflix uses the Keys. Only Sony phones have the DRM (it's for their apps and hardware).

Netflix might not work for another reason, but lost keys is not one of them (Nexus,HTC, and Samsung all don't have DRM keys and Netflix works fine).

But to answer your question, try another kernel?
