Lol. Your phone is not a limited edition.I can confirm this! I have the limited edition BN 64GB version. The case does have about a 1.5mm lip all the way around to keep the screen off the surface.
Now if Google would just fix Hangouts to stop vibrating for all messages regardless if setting is on or off... I would be completely set!![]()
First of all just because it's 1.5 mm lip all the way around the phone doesn't mean it's limited edition, the only limted edition is for Verizon employees which is bn but with red accents here and There on the phone which then makes it limited edition. For me I use Google messenger text app and perfectly fine in vibration notification of double short pulse. All other texting apps would require a lot of vibration per text and or just one or short pulse which I disliked. Plus Google messenger is the most stable app to use for texting because it lets you send and receive through WiFi all mms.I can confirm this! I have the limited edition BN 64GB version. I was referring to my phone, not the case from Diztronic being limited edition. I have the employee edition BN, which is the 'limited edition'. The person I was answering asked if the case had a lip on it that kept the screen off the surface if placed face down, it does and the lip is 1.5mm thick.First of all just because it's 1.5 mm lip all the way around the phone doesn't mean it's limited edition, the only limted edition is for Verizon employees which is bn but with red accents here and There on the phone which then makes it limited edition. Yes, unfortunately at this time we have no plans to make a SURFACE case for the Ballistic Nylon Version of the Motorola Droid Turbo. However, out DILEX Pro case does fit both versions of the Droid Turbo.About the Seidio Surface case... I've added it to my collection and despite what was said before about it fitting the ballistic nylon it does not. For the one fellow that said it did the small gap you see there between the two halves is not supposed to exist, it should be nearly imperceptible. I've got an email into Seidio asking about a specific ballistic nylon case but no answer yet.
As a data point I have now the cummuter, the surface, and the naked toughcase and here are some random impressions...
The otterbox is certainly my vote for best case to face Armageddon with but for every other day its almost laughable. In fact the ladies may dump you being under the assumption that you simply cant overcompensate enough and they best steer clear of the wee little winky that led to such a purchase. Honestly, this thing is way overbuilt unless you really seriously are about to step into a war zone, in that case buy this case and never look back.
The naked toughcase. You can see that BN which is good but this is somewhat outweighed by the hard cheap feeling plastic that you are looking through to see that ballistic nylon and also feel every time you pick it up. You will probably feel pretty good about the phone surviving a drop. You probably will drop it more than you normally would thanks to the fact that the hard see through plastic not only feels cheap is also fairly slippery. I say this being a phone slut and having owned many many cases, this one is no BS on the slippery side.
The Surface is easily the best feel in hand among these three. This is the third one I've had and before neither got it right. This time they do, good feel in the hand and neither slippery nor grabby going into or coming out of pocket. For this particular phone the Surface also follows the contour of the phone exactly so if you are like me and you love the feel of the curved case of the Turbo/Maxx you are going to be happy to know it has the same shape only slightly larger, it is the most svelte of the three. Protection is another matter. Both the previous surface cases I had were a little more robust in feel. I get the feeling that this one is a little better than a snap on tpu case but not a great deal better. I've had a few drops with other versions of this case on a couple phones without a break and I feel confident it will perform as expected under ordinary circumstances but it is the last of the three I would want to take to Armageddon.
I'll update on Seidio gets back to me on the specific case for the BN. As of now the Surface stays on. The fit isn't quite right but it offers enough protection to get me through a drop and while it doesn't let me see the BN like the naked its easily the best feel in hand. I would say those that plan on attending world war three need only get the commuter and go forth.
Edit... They just emailed back saying they have no plans for a BN specific case at this time but have not ruled it out.
Also, FYI, Skinomi SkinTech screen cover fits great with the case as well. Here are some pics of the Tudia Slim-Fit I just got for my new Maxx (Ballistic Nylon). Great case!
The Dilex is flawed by its design not bringing the shell up over the top and the bottom. This is not only failing to take advantage of the dual layer design to mitigate damage but in use when pulling the phone in and out of pocket you usually grab it by its end which begins to deform within a few months since it is only the soft inner portion on either end. I have had the Dilex as recently as the N5 so I say this from experience and equally with experience that other cases using the same design have the same problems. They fail to offer the protection from the next weakest portion of the coverage area after the corners and they all get that loose rubber at either end of the phone from when you pull it out of a pocket. Its a baffling choice since the rubber is usually thickened in that area to make its surface height match the shell meaning that the thickness is not reduced, only the protection offered.Yes, unfortunately at this time we have no plans to make a SURFACE case for the Ballistic Nylon Version of the Motorola Droid Turbo. I believe you are referring the previous version of our DILEX case. With the DILEX Pro we have re-imagined the structure and materials of the case while listening to feedback from customers. The DILEX Pro features TPU instead of the previous silicone material used with the DILEX. This type of material offers better protection and ease of use for the user, while maintaining a total case thickness of 2.2 mm. Not only will it not deform or get stuck on fabrics, it also features shock absorbing technology, Hexguard, molded into the rubber layer. The TPU layer and the polycarbonate layer also snap together, making installation very easy. The Dilex is flawed by its design not bringing the shell up over the top and the bottom. Thank you for stopping by and commenting on your products.
Cant be too previous because you were using the previous version picture as a place holder last time I was by your site a few weeks ago when I ordered the surface at which time the dilex was unavailable. It does however appear I am talking about a previous version based on your post, I stand corrected then, thank you. Are you shipping product now? I might have to check it out, I'm a bit of a slut where these things are concerned.I believe you are referring the previous version of our DILEX case. You beat me to it.Also, FYI, Skinomi SkinTech screen cover fits great with the case as well.
Sorry I must have misread your post and thought you must have been a newbie. No offence at all honestly. I was at work and quickly surfing through XDA and saw your post and replied quick. Hopefully you try out Google messenger for it surely is better than hangouts. Honestly I never really got into the hype of hangouts. I have tried tons of sms apps like textra, hello, chomp, qksms, evolve, 8sms, mighty sms, Verizon sms. Yes a couple had cooler features but when it came to mms Google messenger was the most reliable out of the bunch.I was referring to my phone, not the case from Diztronic being limited edition. Thanks for the suggestion on Google Messenger, I haven't tried that and may give it a go. But the issue is a software issue with Hangouts. When you turn off vibration for notification, it doesn't actually disable it which is my issue, not the use of the app itself.
Which model do you have? Metallic or Ballistic Nylon?I have the Black Seidio Surface Case for work now I just bought the Red one and WOW what a look! this is not just straight red its a red that changes to like a dark reddish brown depending on which way you look at it.
