My contract with verizon is up soon and i am deciding between both these phones.. I love the style and near naked android feel of the moto x but i have real concerns for battery life throughout the day.The turbo is a powerhouse on the battery side and is strong overall ,the thickness and size makes it less pocket friendly and the capacitive buttons aren't optimal... Since moto x has been out awhile i was looking to get opinions from owners on their likes/dislikes and if they would still pick a moto x over a turbo.. thanks

Only real advantage the turbo has over the X (on Verizon ) is battery life and wireless charging. Verizon moto X has been getting average battery life. On other editions were seeing some exceptional battery life.

Well if you're not stuck on Verizon, the battery life is a lot better. I get 5.5-6hr sot over 14-20hr with my moto x pure. Using it on straight talk currently, used it on at&t and the battery life was the same.

There isn't much discernable difference in screen Unless you focus on the screen from 2-4" away. The speakerphone is miles better. The call volume is better. Feels incredibly well built, with a slightly smaller footprint. And the camera is actually pretty good, with some reviews saying it beats the turbo.

Not knocking to turbo at all, just pointing out some of the differences you were looking for.

I was debating this too. I bought the turbo and love it. For $100 bucks more you get wireless charging, insane specs, bigger battery, and a beautiful screen. Its not as big as you think it is in person! I'm glad I went with the turbo. I came from a S4 so the buttons didn't bother me although I would've preferred on screen ones. I have had zero issues with this thing and I have no buyers remorse. And I paid full price for it. Go check it out in person.

I'm actually thinking that I'm going to end up trading my Turbo in for an X. I just don't feel like the hardware is optimized for a 2k screen at this time. I mean visually you can't even really tell that it is higher resolution but you can definitely see the performance suffering in places from it. I experience a good bit of lag when scrolling around and sometimes It even hangs for a good second or two before finally registering the touch. I've also noticed a lot of wavy/warping text when scrolling around on webpages. It's really weird. It's almost like the text takes a second to catch up with the screen and creates like a wavy sensation. Something I've never experienced with all of the 1080p screen phones that I've had. I've showed a few people and they agreed that they probably couldn't deal with it. I feel like Lollipop may correct these issues but I really don't want to take the chance in case it doesn't because I paid full price. I know many people will disagree with my observation but I was just going to put my experience out there for those trying to make a decision.

I do get really good battery life on a plus side though.

I agree on most of that you wrote, maybe 1080p display could increase battery life a lot, but you are losing the point also of having a future proof phone. I know that content is not optimized for 2K yet, but technology is going to that, to show better and more optimized content for this kind of displays.

About the lag, I think is really weird because everyone says that the phone is a beast and runs really good.

I'm not sure if there really is a such thing as future proof in this game. :) Even after watching a 2K video, I'd say it would be very hard for anyone to tell the difference between that and full HD. Hopefully you're right though and the display can be optimized. I really do want to like this phone.

It does run smoothly most of the time, but it definitely has it's hiccups a good bit to though. Many more of these hiccups are experienced on the Turbo as opposed to my Galaxy s5 or M8. Most obvious is when I'm scrolling through a webpage or the XDA app I know that I hit the screen properly so I'll wait instead of trying to re-swipe and about 2 seconds or so later the screen finally responds to what I did. It honestly happens a good bit. I've saw it on Twitter, chrome, Xda, the Amazon app, Twitter, and YouTube. Hopefully a software tweek can be made to fix it as I don't see any performance sufferings while playing videos. I haven't really tried games yet but if I do I'll report back.

I can really deal with all of the lag but the text/screen warping issue is my main concern at this point. There is a thread in the general section describing what we know/dont know about it. It really looks like the screen can't keep up with swipes so it causes this wavy effect. If it can't be fixed I'll definitely be getting rid of the phone as I'm somewhat of a display junkie.

moto x with slightly better battery life would be perfect... android l might be the solution they estimate 30% more life via the new battery app
I totally agree man.

It seems that the Lollipop build that is leaked to the Moto X gives impressive results concerning battery life; if this is true, maybe I will change my mind to the Moto X, because I really like it and still the capacitive buttons are not my thing. If the Moto X can last for a full day, I will have to consider it again.
