I see this and I cry in pain when I see that it needs 25$ :p
It would be acceptable if it were for 10$ or 15$ but 25$ is really high especially that Droid Turbo is an old device and can be found for 100$ or less in eBay!
You are welcome to pour years of work and $10000s into making a similar tool, and releasing for $10.

So, I am going to assume you are not a developer. Correct me if this is an incorrect statement. But lets just calculate out the hourly rate that these guys get paid, it really is not that much. Why ?? Well, they still have to pay taxes on this income and they have to have devices, that most of them purchase, to test this out on. They could I suppose get people to volunteer to possibly destroy their devices while their testing this all out, but that is not likely. Also, no one seems to have an issue paying 25.00 for a decent dinner for the family, but scoff at the idea of paying that for an application that will essentially give you a developer edition device. Now, a lot of people will not drop the money for a developer edition device, if one is available, but love to have root and prefer an unlocked bootloader. If I go to anyone, and I mean anyone and say to them I will give them a completely unlocked device, including an unlocked bootloader for 25.00, they will do it if they are into the rooting community.

So, here is my opinion. I understand what you are saying, but look at what you are getting. Also, even a new device on contract that is locked you cannot get for 25.00 and yes, maybe you can buy a locked Droid Turbo for 100.00, but it is locked. Not a whole lot of options with that.

So, pretend it's $125 instead of $100. Factor in the bootloader unlock cost.

Comparable smartphones (same specs, same generation, from 2014 or even 2015 -- 1440p, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805 or newer) are more than $100. You know why? Because they can be easily rooted and custom ROMs installed to re-new them like a current device. The reason the Droid Turbo is artificially low is because it has a locked bootloader.

Nexus 6 has the same specs, as does the other Quarks.

What's the going price on a Nexus 6? OH, THAT'S RIGHT -- THE BOOTLOADER CAN BE UNLOCKED.

32GB Nexus 6
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=9355&_nkw=nexus 6&_dcat=9355&Storage%20Capacity=32GB

Look up the price of an XT1250 or XT1225, the Quarks with the easily unlocked bootloaders. :p XT1250 is $180 - $215. It's EXACTLY IDENTICAL to the XT1254. Same FCC ID, same radio bands. Much more than the Droid Turbo. They hold their value because they aren't crippled by Verizon.

32GB XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx (same exact phone as the XT1254 Droid Turbo)
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Cell-Phones-Smartphones/9355/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=XT1250

64GB XT1225 - $579
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...C2.A0.H0.Xxt1225.TRS0&_nkw=xt1225&_sacat=9355

I own three of those, and that's more than I paid for my 3rd one which is still brand new in the box.

You act like the Droid Turbo is no longer a valuable phone. It's only not valuable on eBay because Verizon crippled it. Use Sunshine to make it valuable again!

And I'm not advocating buying phones on eBay -- I know Swappa and XDA are partners. I'm just comparing prices of various phones since the person I replied to mentioned eBay prices of the Droid Turbo XT1254.

I believe "magically" should have rolling eyes emoji or surrounded by quotes.

At least this guy admitted he installed the update (not the OTA, he actually flashed the full update file), although he claimed he couldn't find the highly visible unlock/root thread.

I wouldn't trust some 3rd party website that wants you to download files and install. Could be malware.

Here's the XDA forum for the AT&T Galaxy S6:

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6
https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s6

I would go there and see what's available. If it's not on XDA, it probably doesn't exist. ;) Seems they have root on some firmware but not bootloader unlock. So, I wouldn't trust some other website that claims to unlock the bootloader on ANY Galaxy S6.

Of course, after I sold my mint Turbo and overpaid for Moto Maxx (which I do enjoy very much), MM bootloader get's unlocked xD..

So let me get this straight.. It's finally unlocked, and people are bi*ching about 25$ being too much? You people don't deserve anything!

MM is unlocked, if you upgrade to some newer possible patch that they will release and then can't unlock and start bi*ching about it, you're an idiot.

SO : As far as I'm concerned , mods/ admins can lock the topic.

I would gladly pay 25 to unlock the latest version of marshmallow . Unfortunately I read that Sunshine could unlock the XT 1254 , but did not realize it could only unlock certain versions of android. When I received my phone I made the mistake of upgrading to the latest version of marshmallow which is not supported by Sunshine . Being new to unlocking and rooting I still find it can be confusing as to which versions of android can be unlocked on the droid turbo .

And so you learn the hard way NEVER to take an OTA until you have researched first. Sunshine unlocks every version of XT1254 firmware since November 2015 EXCEPT for the latest version released in March 2017.

There were temporarily times newer firmware in between could not be unlocked until Sunshine updated their exploits, their app, whatever. @EjđiSixo got a Droid Turbo during one of those dry spells, gave up, sold it, and bought another Quark -- a U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250 -- which could easily be unlocked. Soon after, Sunshine found they could unlock that firmware. But he had no way of knowing if/when that would happen.

It can be confusing if you do a search for Sunshine bootunlocker for XT 1254 you have to read a lot of post to even discover most versions of MM have been unlocked . I believed for sometime MM was not unlocked . I have loaded the latest version of Sunshine on my device and check daily to see if bootloader unlock is possible . Maybe one day I will be pleasantly surprised.

Right. And during those times we had to say "no, can't be done" -- and then a month later, it suddenly was "yes, it now can be done". And we can't go back and change all those past answers.

I would try Sunshine if it didn't get the very last OTA 24.91.5.5 Sunshine will unlock it .
It did lol. First thing I did was check. I got the 64 GB version for $100 of Craigslist though which I thought was a good deal to use as a phone when I sell my main one to upgrade to a different one (I switch phones a lot lol) so I don't mind too much. Maybe someone will figure out a method on this OTA but considering how old it is maybe not.

Its still a great phone on Marshmallow . There's still a lot of expensive phones running Marshmallow ,and it didn't cost you $500 dollars .

No need to watch this topic. Not possible to downgrade with a locked bootloader. Been said over and over and over.

If you updated to the latest OTA (March 2017) without doing research first or the phone was already updated when you bought it, you are out of luck -- unless Sunshine comes through with another exploit.

However, if your Droid Turbo XT1254 is on any firmware version EXCEPT for the very latest (released March 2017), you can unlock your bootloader right now with Sunshine!

@EjđiSixo, why don't you request the mods lock this topic thread? We all agree you can't downgrade locked bootloaders on the Verizon Droid Turbo XT1254 and it's NOT ever "coming soon".
