Lost phone and now have 6.0.1 24.251-5-5

I lost my rooted unlocked blissed 1254 and now regret the insurance replacement. I did all the mods myself following instructions on this fantastic site and would sacrifice my new phone to experiment with detailed instructions on how to get my phone back. I will even donate to the cause of paying a qualified individual to provide us the necessary software to do this. I miss my TWRP :crying: Please inform me of any breaking news and I will dedicate my limited experience to help further the cause.

was rooted, now semi bricked/locked pissed

If you still need a 5,5 I have one . I lefet my car in an uber and in 15 minuted the driver had factory reset it trying to open it, the bastarf, but, at least I got my ohone back, trouble is, I wasn't paying attention and I took the damn update on accident, SO PISSED. anyway, been trying to do a bunch of workarounds, tried everything on this thread and a few others. I tried the latest sunshine and it tokd me I had a temporary unlock and then something happened.

phone is having trouble getting past the logo screen once in a while, then it tries to optimize files, I took the sim card out so it could be that but I just sidelined it until I see something that works,

A month ago @jcase from Sunshine was asking for volunteers to help test with an update for 5-5. So I believe they are indeed working on it.

Look up a couple of posts. I quoted his post in this thread.

can we install lollipop in droid turbo using mfastboot?
Yes, if you are still on Kitkat 4.4.4 and want to update to stock Lollipop firmware. You can always upgrade to newer firmware using mfastboot. However if you ever wish to unlock your bootloader, do NOT upgrade to the very latest Marshmallow. Sunshine does not work on that yet. Sunshine works on every Marshmallow version from November 2015 until just before the very latest (March 2017).

Yes, you can install Lollipop if your bootloader is unlocked and you wish to downgrade from Marshmallow (or even custom Nougat ROM) back to stock Lollipop firmware. You can even go back to stock Kitkat 4.4.4 if you wish. But you have to omit GPT.bin from the fastboot commands when you downgrade to lower firmware. However, you cannot downgrade if your bootloader is locked.

I think this thread is all about Downgrading and not about upgrading but thanks for the reply .
I answered both. You did read my reply?

The 2nd paragraph was about downgrading. I clearly said you can downgrade if you have an unlocked bootloader. And I told you that you have to omit GPT.bin from the flashc commands to downgrade.

All you asked about was installing Lollipop. So I gave complete answer.

All of you are in luck. Just released:

From @jcase:

[Root && Unlock] Droid Turbo 6.0.1 mcg24.251-5-5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/dr...t-unlock-droid-turbo-6-0-1-mcg24-251-t3639618

With an unlocked bootloader you can do almost anything. Ignore the thread title, this post is for the people wanting to unlock their bootloaders and were stuck on latest firmware which until now did not work with Sunshine. Go to the post above.

Appreciation fo time spent on older phones

I really appreciate the fact that you work on something like this, seriously, not all of us can still afford to stay up to date on the newest device and in my case I had it unlocked and rooted but someone tried to break in to my phone and factory reset it, then mistakenly I took the update. Anyway, I have a bunch of older phones and I couldn't afford to buy one outright for the last few years. I used to have a very successful business, new android and a new iphone whenever the new one came out, just cause I felt like it, new gadgets, etc. but I ran into some trouble and I have had this turbo for almost three years. lots of people really just can't afford a new phone and what a great gift to discover these roms and other mods that some curious person with a small budget can get, opening up the functionality and the designs on the phone. I know you devs don't get enough credit and everybody is always demanding or whining about it not being done yet, while others are saying, "why are you wasting your time on that?" Fix my device instead... well I for one am really thankful for you guys that do this , asking for only donations while you make your hard work available to anyone. Thanks a ton, if you're one of these devs and you ever need anything that I can provide (I am a former IT now Jazz singer, entertainer and writer) just shoot me an email ad I'll see what I can do for you.

Thanks again

Once you unlock your Droid Turbo bootloader you can downgrade to any firmware you wish. This guide below has now been updated to work with even the latest (as of this date) Verizon firmware.

[GUIDE] How to unlock your bootloader, install TWRP and gain root access
https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-install-t3292684

Once you unlock the bootloader, root and install TWRP (I would really recommend installing TWRP), you can flash either TWRP-flashable stock firmware files found in this forum, like this one:

[ROM] MCG24.251-5 100% Stock

or even this tweaked, debloated stock-based ROM (which is very stable):

Computerfreek274_1.0.8 Update Marshmallow 6.0.1 Global,De-bloated,Root,Volte, 5/29/17

Or you can ADB flash lower firmware all the way back to KitKat, if you wish -- ONCE YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED. However if you ADB flash (fasboot/msfastboot) lower firmware, be sure to omit the GPT.bin from your flash commands or you will bootloop. Also, if you wish to keep TWRP recovery (which I recommend), also omit the recovery.img flash commands.

First step is to unlock you bootloader, root, and install TWRP.

Debugging mode is in Developer Options. If those are not enabled you have to enable them. If you don't know how, Google: how to enable Developer Options Android.

Are you asking what version you have? Go to Settings/About Phone. Scroll do to bottom of that page and it will show you the Build Number.

thx so, but as i told earlier m not able to complete the configuration setup after factory reset through Recovery.
i know the settings for developer options/ about phone/build numbers/version etc. but not able to pass the configuration setup and thus goes to stop every time i started phone at "Select wifi network" step-No Wifi router/modem/ device appears to be selected, a blank one (seems to be soft brick type situation or boot loop type if m right)

so my current problem seems to be, "how to Enable Debugging through commands etc or through other method, so that i can follow the Unlocking etc method you provided to me.

Sorry, I answer so many questions I forgot your previous original post and neglected to read it again.

You've already factory reset the phone and that didn't help.

You can boot to recovery mode and use fastboot to flash the most recent firmware again. See if that solves your problem. Here's someone who had a similar issue, with another Android:

As I didn't have USB debugging enabled I couldn't connect to the phone via ADB, but if you put it into recovery mode you can use Fastboot. Hold down the power key to turn the device off and turn it on while holding down Vol Down to load up recovery mode.
Also, you should be able to unlock the bootloader with Sunshine the same way. And you can downgrade firmware when bootloader is unlocked.

If you are not able to do any of this, you will have to take phone to a professional repair center, preferably Motorola.

It did lol. First thing I did was check. I got the 64 GB version for $100 of Craigslist though which I thought was a good deal to use as a phone when I sell my main one to upgrade to a different one (I switch phones a lot lol) so I don't mind too much. Maybe someone will figure out a method on this OTA but considering how old it is maybe not.
Good news unlock is possible https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4-play/development/root-autoinitroot-motorola-bootloader-t3639316 after rooting you can unlock bootloader using Sunshine after unlocking bootloader Uninstall Initroot flash twrp and install custom rom to achieve permanent root.
