Droid ultra and Google wallet :(

I came from a Verizon galaxy nexus and of course I had root so I was able to get Google wallet installed. I used it very frequently and I seem to remember a. No root apk floating around out there, but it does not seem to work anymore. Has anyone had luck with Google wallet on their ultra?

Also being on a carrier that doesn't support wallet to begin with doesn't help.

I believe the secure element is in the Sim card now. Not sure if Google Wallet could use that when/if we get root.

I don't have the NFC SE Sim as of Now, but today I ordered the NFC SE so as to hedge my bets when Isis starts to allow all credit/debit cards. I hate to go through this waiting game again. I was using Google wallet almost daily and it was one of my favorite gnex features.

That said Isis activated on my maxx without issue. And the isis site is a little confusing. It says it requires both an NFC se Sim and the phones NFC. But when using the app it says my phone was initialized just fine.

I had a Gnex with root and it was installed. Than one day it just gave me the unsupported carrier notification (not unsupported phone) and that was the end of that. They had to mail me a refund check.

That's a bummer, I always got unsupported device, but it always worked. Its a great service I hope Isis can compare.

There's no secure element. You physically lack the hardware. Google's given up on Wallet for all intents and purposes.
There is a secure element still. When I set up ISIS wallet it specifically said it was programming the secure element.

And it works, I paid at McDonalds last night using it for the first time.
