Just a heads-up, Netflix doesn't work on unlocked and/or rooted devices. Something to keep in mind before flashing it.

I don't know where you got that feature list, but it's wrong. We don't have a lot of what you posted. Also caf based kernel is wrong too. These AOSP ROMs are simply debloated optimized stock ROMs with various additional feature sets, anywhere from a few extra tweaks to massive customizations.
DU also incorporates a CAF based custom kernel for Qualcomm based devices. It is known for being super stable as all features are fully tested by actual devices on hand, smooth, fast, and battery friendly. It has a reputation for being an excellent daily driver.
A features list has been added to the OP, so as you can probably tell DU leans more towards the feature rich side...
Well the kernel specs are right off their own Github page as well as other forums...I don't know where you got that feature list, but it's wrong. We don't have a lot of what you posted. Also caf based kernel is wrong too.
Apparently some apps can now tell that the device is unlocked/rooted on certain devices. However, this is true regardless of whether the ROM is stock or custom. The workaround is to install an older version of Netflix, as mentioned on a number of other threads. Hopefully, Magisk will be updated at some point to take care of this.Just a heads-up, Netflix doesn't work on unlocked and/or rooted devices. Something to keep in mind before flashing it.
Well I tried several versions and it still wouldn't work. Maybe I just was unlucky.Apparently some apps can now tell that the device is unlocked/rooted on certain devices. Did you try this version, it seems to be the one most claim still works...Well I tried several versions and it still wouldn't work. Maybe I just was unlucky.
i got it to work by just grabbing the apk from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netflix-inc/netflix/netflix-6-26-1-build-15-31696-release/ and then after i installed it i added it to the magisk hide list. did you add yours to the magisk hide list? if not add it to the list, then clear netflix's data and see if it works
I'm back on the stock Rom right now, I'll try it again once TWRP is available.Did you try this version, it seems to be the one most claim still works...
Why do you ignore the fact that you're asked to remove the download link? It's not allowed to post DU on other websites other than Official Du pages.Well the kernel specs are right off their own Github page as well as other forums...

The DUI features I pulled off an XDA review for an Oreo build...

I haven't installed this build due to lack of TWRP, so can't confirm it myself. I look forward to your updated features list and kernel specs so I can revise the posts...
I did not post the DU firmware itself, I posted a link to the page which is allowed both under XDA rules for this forum, and under fair use policy of copyright law. In fact, this site encourages the posting of helpful links rather than the copying of material that may become outdated at some point. Why do you ignore the fact that you're asked to remove the download link? I know you were trying to help but it's not respectful to ignore what the owners of DU recommend for their roms.
Except that you look ridiculous by not abiding by the wishes of the developers actually creating the work. Meanwhile, you're inaccurately displaying what our work actually contains.I did not post the DU firmware itself, I posted a link to the page which is allowed both under XDA rules for this forum, and under fair use policy of copyright law. Linking of websites was one of the founding principles of information sharing on which the public internet space was founded. Sites can't post public content, and then set rules by which that public content is accessed.
If a website wishes to discourage deep-linking, they can create a login to make the space private and inaccessible, or create a redirect if the page is not accessed through their homepage.
I can respect recommendations while having the choice to not follow them. In this case I think the link is both useful and warranted. You also have the choice to not use my link, and find the content on your own. If we followed the recommendations of every device manufacturer and software publisher out there, this site would not exist...
13.4 of DU (UNOFFICIAL) is on the Discord server; I grabbed it myself yesterday. I can't flash it until I get proper cables; however, that is the only hold up.To avoid any further discord, the link in the OP has been removed.
Bonito is not unofficial, only Sargo is.13.4 of DU (UNOFFICIAL) is on the Discord server; I grabbed it myself yesterday. I can't flash it until I get proper cables; however, that is the only hold up.
Best place for info about du is discord. You'll get answers from the developers not from users that most of the time don't know.I used Dirty Unicorns back on OnePlus 3 days and remember it being clean and well balanced ROM.
That said, I've been out of modding scene since a couple of years so I'm considering pros and cons of starting the whole precedure of unlock, TWRP, DU, GApps, Magisk, etc.
After searching around the web for some answers with very little luck, I'd ask some questions for those kind enough to answer:
- does the DU kernel support LZMA compression, that is mandatory to use permanent TWRP?
- is active edge supported and customizable?
- are navigation bar buttons (back, home, recents) customizable with long-press actions?
Before someone ask to go somewhere else (Discord? Telegram?) to find answers, please understand that the whole purpose of this thread is exactly to share knowledge about DU ROM, otherwise it can be closed.
Huh? The TWRP releases aren't from XDA. They are from independent developers. They just chose to publish on XDA.OK, went on Discord and found the discussion.
I think that this thread should be gently closed because it is clear that DU community don't want to be present here (while still using XDA's TWRP releases, ironically).
DU never forbade discussion of the ROM.Yep, sure, XDA has it's own apps that are published (navigation gestures, labs, etc.) and all other things are released from developers using XDA for communication and discussion.
What I mean is that in my humble opinion is not fair from DU team to forbid the discussion of their ROM here but still link to an XDA thread (yours in this case) for TWRP.
I'm not mad about it, I just think that this thread should be closed down because discussing here will probably DU builds for bonito to stop and I would try to avoid it.
