Same with my case. I tried to use my old sdcard with the the sim hack applied. I have used this sd card with sim hack on my s7e for almost 2yrs without any problem.

Tried on note 8, i managed to lock the sdcard with sim on the sim tray. But when inserting it to the device, it will not go in.

Would you mind taking out your SIM tray and making a super-close-up picture of it from the side? So I could see exactly by how many fractions of an inch either the stripped SIM or the SD card protrudes—I'd like to compare with mine, and am afraid if I push it in using great force, I'm not gonna be able to eject the tray.
Hi, sorry but can't anymore. I removed the mod and instead bought one of those dual-sim extender things. It does exactly the same thing except the 2nd sim is on the outside of the phone. It makes contact with the internals via a very thin "fake nano sim" attached to a ribbon cable to the sim receptacle. It provides a much better fit and does not require you to do any modifications to the sim itself. It also does not require any adhesive.

As for not being able to eject the tray, don't worry. If you can insert the whole thing without causing damage (that is the hard part), you should be able to eject it without causing damage as well. I've done it on multiple phones before and yes, the amount of force required to eject the tray is greater, but it shouldn't get stuck. That said, the Note8 is a very expensive phone to break so you may want to get comfortable with a cheaper phone first. I've started doing the mod on my S7 so I've gotten pretty confident already. You might also want to use a cheap microsd first as well. It is possible to break the microsd physically as you may need to push the microsd downward slightly as you insert it.

I am now using something like that and it works. You may need to make sure that the ribbon cable is of the right length, I don't know what the ideal length is though. I bought might from a local seller and had a chance to fit it before purchasing. And make sure that it is compatible with Samsung phones. Motorola's hybrid dual sim has the sim positioned the other way around so one that works for Motorola phones will likely not work on Samsung phones without modifying the adapter. Also make sure that the SIM receptacle is for nano sims so you can hide it inside your case a bit easier. The micro sim receptacle works too but obviously it is larger. Also use some tape to make sure that the sim receptacle doesn't move around as it may cause scratches.

I am also using external adapter (some random brand). The first try of installation failed because the connector pins in the phone put a pressure so the ribbon started to deform like paper. But next try, with second adapter and much more care from my side, worked. Ofc. You need to accept that you have something outside the phone. For me, Notes comes very natural with clear view/LED cases, so after pealling some material from the back part of the case, the adapter is bearly visible. And what's important for me, there is much less danger for the microSD, SIM and phone. And process is fully reversible (well, only the case have permanently missing 1 square centimeter of the material on the inside).

Hi I finally bought the 128 GB version in case the mod wouldn't work, but after a good polishing of the SD card I managed to slide the tray in. That plastic tray looks a bit cheap btw

Can you take the tray out and take a super close-up picture of it from the side, so I see how much the cards protrude on both top and bottom?

How hard did you have to push to get it in—very hard?

When I decided to get the note 8 I was in doubt so I got the 128gb version anyway.... SD is nice but fragile.. now I managed to get this working, I end up with 192 gb memory and a quick access to it. Great photo phone by the way
