Hi guys !

Is it possible to convert the global version to a dual sim if you get like the dual sim tray from the chinese version and put it inside the global phone and work with both sims?

Or you need other things like a custom rom that enables the 2nd sim? I find it very curious why they opted for the single sim tray for the global version considering that i don't think they did any modification under the hood of the phone.

For me it's horrible going from a dual sim phone to a single sim considering that most of the people have one personal sim and one for work :(

It would be very interesting if someone managed to try the chinese version's sim tray because it looks like the hw is all there
I wonder if it could be this easy tho

check the global version from hong kong which seems to have enabled dual sim but check if the network bands are compatible in your country.

An Stupid move from Xiaomi, not just sell the Global version with higher price, but to release it with one sim slot! After 8 year with Xiaomi, I'm moving to ONEPLUS 8 Pro. I'm so upset because of that, have to sell my others Xiaomi gadgets! But i will do that because they proved so many times that don't care about customers opinion! China, the b a s t a r ds that spread a virus and earn money from it !

because flashing rom will disable your banking apps.
I flashed xiaomi.eu to my mi note 10 and before it mi 9 pro 5g which was China exclusive

I had no problems with banking apps not Netflix for example

Did u have any experience with any mi device that broke ur banking applications?

There wont be any problems because his post was false. You keep your safetynet status and widevine L1 if you flash the eu rom. Everything is working.

Also, to finally answer the question: Someone on the german forum "android-hilfe" flashed the EU Rom on his Global mi 10 pro, and automatically got 2 IMEI numbers assigned. It looks like everyone should be able to just flash the eu rom and use the dual sim feature, even if you have the global variant.

no need to root but you have to settle with unlocked bootloader

I stand corrected.. My worry is if I have an unlocked bootloader, some function will not work like safetynet, etc.. I don't really care about root anymore, I just don't wanna break anything om the phone. By the way, great to learn that CN version can be flashed with eu rom without a problem. same goes for global version to enable dual sim.

Everything works with unlocked bootloader, obviously I don't try you're banking app, gpay working fine on EU, so basically someone needs to buy a dual SIM tray and see if it works? I'm on Chinese version
