Hi, I am in Australia and have just purchased a Moto X via ebay. Maybe that was not a good idea

When attempting to call someone on my contact list, the phone automatically places a +1 in front of the number which then apparently tells my provider I am trying to make an overseas call. I am in fact, calling locally. The phone is seemingly doing the wrong thing.

I assume that there is a setting that tells the phone in which country it is set for - in this case, it seems to be the USA - +1 is the USA prefix and the phone always wants to call the USA.

Can anyone assist please by advising as to how I can remove this setting in the phone so it will not automatically want to place the +1 in front of the local number?

Thanking you in advance
Charles

Hey, please add your model number and your exact android version in your post. This will help to figure out, how to solve the problem. Also maybe add information about how you save your numbers, like: 073883XXXX or +49163738XXX
Saving your numbers with countrycode e.g. might help.

Thank you so much for your response. The seller has come back to me finally and advised me how to go about it - step by step. Now all good. Had to change the default country - was listed as the USA

Cheers & many thanks
