Well unfortunately my second xoom which i thought i checked thoroughly had a nice speck of dust in the same location by the back button as my first. It was not noticeable at night but in the day time it stuck out like a sore thumb.

I sent my unit in for repair, and will provide you guys with feedback on what Moto will do. I am wondering how long it will take? They quoted a week.

I am curious to know how many people have some dust under their screen.

I am contemplating another return. I already returned one (for a different issue), but noticed that the last one had dust under the screen. I am noticing after about 2 weeks of use on my replacement that dust is starting to accumulate again. I don't have any screen protectors, and I keep my xoom in a relatively dust free environment (not outdoors, always in a sleeve, etc...)

I have some in the middle of the screen, and all along the black bar near the bottom of the screen. there are about 6 pieces at this point. I have a SHP screen with a tiny bit of backlight bleed - I am wondering if this is how the dust is getting in.

I don't mind returning it again, but I don't see the point in doing this if this is an expected issue.

Anyone else notice dust under the screen on their Xooms? And really, is this expected of a non-bound screen of this size.

I'm trying to gage whether it is worth returning it and starting from scratch with another replacement.

I wanted to give you guys an update on how my screen has been with dust.

I originally posted that I had 1 piece of dust that was noticeable in sunlight, and I was worried about having more. I can I happily say, that after having my xoom for a little over a month, no additional dust has gotten under the screen. I use my xoom to take notes in class everyday, so it gets exposed to a lot of dust from transportation and being in a classroom for 3-6 hours daily.

I am thinking that the dust got there during the manufacturing process. I will post an update in another month or two and see if this still holds for my outdoor summer use.

Zeusus,

if dust is accumulating, I would definitely return it for another unit. The dust I have is annoying but there does not seem to be any more collecting under the screen, so I can live with it. But I personally would not be satisfied if I saw more appearing.

Thank you @prime.

There is certainly more and more appearing, so it has to be getting in from somewhere. It's my 2nd return to bestbuy, so I'll stop there on my way home after work.

Just a little annoying on a 600 dollar purchase.

Thank you for the input.
