E6853 can't boot into recovery

Hi!

Hardware button combination (power + vol up) on my Z5P E6853 doesn't seem to work.
I've tried adb to boot into recovery but adb doesn't seem to recognize device. Flashtool recognizes device just fine.
I've tried both USB2 and USB3 ports, and I've tried this on both Windows and Linux machines with the same result.

Any advice how to boot into recovery?

E6853, stock 5.1.1, unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP recovery, not rooted yet for obvious reasons.

I've managed to get TWRP and root installed and working by following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/32-1-1-185-stock-modified-kernel-t3355369

However, the "holding Vol Up + Power" HW button combination doesn't work for my device. What works to boot into recovery is Power button and then pressing Vol Up when notification light comes up.
