Flash Scott's cleanrom. It has extended power menu settings that allow yo to boot to recovery.

I believe you can pick reboot from the power menu, after the screen turns off hold power and volume down, and you can get to fastboot. It's easier when it's charging, because the led shuts off when you need to hold the buttons, and that is easier to see than the screen shutting all the way off. From fastboot you can pick recovery, as long as you don't have a ph98img.zip on your sd card.

Turn off phone....hold volume down and power button.... Select recovery

Just make sure fast boot isn't checked in settings before you shut down phone and you don't have phimg zip on your sd card. If you have a file it will try and flash in bootloader (ex kernel)
