TEKHD - You da man!!!

Now I'm gonna have to dive in and root this bad boy... I love the device, but root will really help me make it mine!

I know several of you have been working on all this stuff, just want to say thanks to all who have participated in making this happen!

I've never owned a device and been a part of watching it all happen from the beginning of the device being released.

Very cool to see it all come together.

Nand Write Fix - Worked for Me

@TEKHD - Thank you for this guide - very cool

Just a suggestion. I had trouble with flashing the kernel and twrp initially getting nand write errors every time. I did follow the suggested solutions at that time

Anyways i found renaming the kernel and twrp to show as .tar at the end instead of .tar.md5 worked for me and a couple others. Just a suggestion maybe to add it as an alternative Nand Write fix solution.

Thanks
Glen

okay... so... We have to use the tar then? I have a Flashable zip in the guide (Kernel as Flashable zip).... that doesn't work then? I basically need to change Step 6 and include the Kernel as tar format?

As usual, TEKHD is leading the charge. I have a feeling I may be getting a new phone soon. :p
Ok, in the other thread that Tek closed people were talking about going into the build prop and changing secure support to false to get the wifi password to stick after reboot. I have done this with root explorer and root browser and it does not work. Anyone else have a solution or maybe i am the only one that it is not working for..... Thanks!

After renaming the TWRP file to .tar instead of .tar.md5 this did not work for me. Also what do i need it rename the kernel to? should i just add .tar to the end as well? Thank you in advance for your response.

Do you guys all still have call audio after rooting?

I have no call audio, and when I make a phone call, the device slows down considerably to the point where even adjusting the volume or hanging up takes a long time.

I'm going to try flash stock back and redo the process. Interested in hearing if anyone else has this issue or it's just me.

Thanks.

Oh I didn't see you had made the kernel a flash able zip so nevermind for that.

Then for TWRP I'd suggest renaming it to: TWRP-2.8.7.1-Alpha_N920T.tar (just removing the md5 part). That's what fixed my nand write issues in the beginning.

Hope that made sense.

Did you turn on oem unlock in developer options? If it's off - turn it on
