Yes you can upgrade. As for the kernel you can install any as long it's compiled from 4.3 sources .

Well, still no success here. Tried the TA procedure several times.
And then I discovered this. What? Do I have Knox now, or what?

I'm not sure how to proceed here. Any ideas at all, Faria..?

Of course it's the ROM u link to, in the first post. Otherwise I wouldn't have updated to 4.3.
And when you told me to flash the separate BL, I did that too. Don't tell me I'm smoked?
This is what it says in DL mode:

Odin mode
Product name GT-N7100
Custom binary download: No
Currant binary: Samsung official
System status: Custom
Warranty bit: 0

Thanx for trying to help out.

My apologies then, I could swear I removed all knoxed files from the rom, I will check when I get home.
In that case your device is not knox ed , as for those knox files you can just delete them with titanium backup. A for the system reporting custom that could be numerous things and I have no time at the moment to explain all.

Hmmm...I deleted the two Knox related apps/files with TB, & nothing bad happened.
However, it still seems impossible to get the "official" status in the OS. Strange. Do
you think it has to do with the Kingo root procedure? I hesitated before using Kingo
but it ended up the only working way to root your ROM (at least on my phone...)
Neither CF autoroot, nor Framaroot had any effect when I tried them out.
Many questions, & few answers....
Cheers anyway, Faria!

I cannot see any obvious advantages over the 4.1.2 ROM that I came from.
But what I definitely notice, is that data reception has decreased drastically.
Where I got reasonable reception before, it now shows "no connection".

In my opinion, the regular user doesn't gain anything, by updating to 4.3.

If Faria really would create an equally easy way of gettting back to 4.1.2
let me tell you I wouldn't hesitate to return to this former OS version...

I have a questions

Hi im a newbie, i have my phone even with warranty, and i like to have 4.3 my questions are:

* Can i downgrade to 4.1.2 without lose my waranty?

* It's absolutely necesary downgrade to 4.1 or can be possible 4.1.2 downgrade

* If i downgrade, old bootloader remains? and will keep 0x0, or will be installed the original bootloader 4.1.2? (I mean CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No, CURRENT BINARY: Custom, SYSTEM STATUS: Custom)

* I must install "The 4.3 bootloader/No knox/no binary count/wi-fi working (Alternative) for GT-N7100" before making
your procedure? or is to make possible downgrade?

* I need to install anything else? (Modem, CSC or anything else) im in Switzerland with Orange

*It is 100% secure make your procedure without lose my waranty and 100% downgradable?

* Will be fantastic if you make a video with this ask or procedure (nothing like a picture)

* How can i downgrade

Thanks for your information your time and to make possible upgrade our phones without ç%&/ of Samsung rules.

Sorry for many questions God Bless you

Looking forward to it. Surfing the Internet is hardly
possible w/o wifi. I really hope it will be possible
to regain "official" status, after reverting to 4,1.2

... a new app what makes knox 0

FYI: There is no way back to 0 ..

The “KNOX Warranty Void” bit (or simply KNOX bit) is used to detect if a non-KNOX kernel has been loaded on the device.
It is a one-time programmable bit in e-fuse, which can only be turned from “0” to “1” (i.e. burned).
If a non-KNOX boot loader or kernel has been put on the device, KNOX can no longer guarantee the security of the KNOX Container.
As a result, this KNOX bit will be burned to “1”, indicating that this device can no longer use the KNOX Container service.

    Cheers,

No It doesn't wipe data, if you got rooted stock It should be fine. Never the less a backup and a wipe is recommended.

Hi, I was on 4.1.2 and flashed the package but I forgot to factory reset the phone before. Nevertheless flashing with Odin went right, it's all running OK, I'm on 4.3, all my settings and apps were kept, I have a right IMEI and of course I lost root. But should I reset the phone to factory reset or it's not necessary?

    Thanks a lot man!

If all is working fine then you don't need to reset.
