EDIT: i found a way to fixit
thanks to : https://github.com/ndeadly/MissionControl/issues/73
BEWARE THAT BY INSTALLING THIS FIRMWARE, SOME BUTTONS WOULD NOT WORK ANYMORE, AND MAYBE YOU CANT ENTER FLASHMODE ANYMORE
STEPS TO INSTALL:
1 DOWNLOAD THE ATTACHED ZIP FILE
2 INSTALL THE WT6573 USB DRIVER
A new device named wt6573 shows in the device manager when the joypad is connected to the computer.
This driver its not signed so it wont be easy to install on windows 10, or at least i didnt wanted to disable Driver Signature enforcement on Windows 10
i had to use a windows 7 machine to install it
the driver is in the G910 DRIVER folder, run installer_x86.exe or installer_x64.exe (depending on your system) or force install the driver from the device manager if it doesnt work
if it asks for the driver signature, just say yes/ok
3 RUN THE FLASH TOOL AND FLASH THE GAME PAD FIRMWARE
Run the flash tool AnduoidUpdate.exe included
CLICK Open FILE and browse for the file ipega 9025 firmware.psp (included)
then click UPDATE
Let the bottom bar to complete, and disconnect the USB cable
THE CONTROLLER IS BACK TO LIFE!
Though installing this firmware from this other model (9025) brought it back to life, these buttons stopped working:
- BOTH R and L triggers
- R1 button stays pressed
- cant switch from HID to GAME mode (Holding X+HOME and Y+HOME)
Multimedia buttons all are working for me
RESULTS USING GAME PAD TESTER APP ON ANDROID
- LEFT ANALOG STICK is ok , but L3 is detected as SELECT BUTTON
- RIGHT ANALOG STICK IS OK, R3 is detected as START button
- X BUTTON: reads as BUTTON A
- Y BUTTON reads as BUTTON X
- A BUTTON reads as BUTTON B
- B BUTTON reads as BUTTON C
- SELECT button reads as L2
- START button reads as R2
- R1 BUTTON SOMETIMES SHOWS AS PRESSED OR DOESN'T RESPOND, THIS MAY CONFLICT IF WE WANT TO ENTER UPDATE MODE AGAIN, AS SELECT+START HAS TO BE PRESSED .,
AND MAYBE THE CAUSE THAT IT CANT CONNECT IN hid MODE HOLDING Y+HOME BUTTONS
Also something disturbing is that i have to connect using X+HOME all the time after disconecting.
NOTES:
Looks that IPEGA updated the hardware for this model,
I can see this because, the latest firmware they posted here: http://m.ipega.hk/gamehandle/53-117.html
does not see our controller (in my case a PG-9021A V2.1, printed on the board )
Also the manual states that the way to enter update mode : hold L3 , differs from ours: start+select
Also in the manual, refers to a RESET button on the back of the joypad (which mine dont have)
IPEGA dont support or ignore older hardware revisions.
============= OLD POST ==================
So playing with my controller tried to see if it could be used as a regular usb controller.
Some said press start then connect the usb cable to the computer.. did nothing
So tried to do the same but with START+SELECT.. and boom, gone!
It actually went into Update Mode, and its ready to be flashed,
Well the thing is, i don''t know if there's any button combination to get it back to bluetooth /regular mode
So the question is :
Does anybody know how to get it out of update mode?
Or someone has the stock firmware file (.PSP format) ??
Thanks in advance.
