Good afternoon!
Well I solved the problem by copying the efs folder that was backed up to the root folder. I know you can not be allowed via root explorer to delete the old efs folder, but what I did was delete the content within the old efs folder . After that I copied the new efs folder to, then root explorer merged the contents of the new folder with the contents of the old folder, as the old folder was empty, the new files were into it.

Bom dia!
I made once like this on a NOTE 10.1 N8000 and solved my case also.

How did you manage to lose it?!

I flashed the stock firmware (Movistar Argentina) with Mobile Odin. Did not change anything else...maybe the problem was doing a dirty flash, not sure thou but wanted to keep root to reset counter.

As my device is rebooting or turning off by itself from time to time, I want to keep it as stockish as possible in case I experience SDS and need to go to service centre.

I successfully backed up my efs to a *.img on my Note 2 using the Mobile Terminal method. Thank you for the guide.

I also happen to own a Galaxy Grand i9082 and i wanted to backup the efs folder using Mobile Terminal method and make a *.img of it

Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 of=/storage/extSdCard/efs.img bs=4096
.
I was wondering if same line of code will work for Galaxy Grand too? Is the block "mmcblk0p3" for efs in all phones?
I googled and saw that this efs block differs for different phones. If so, how can i figure out what to replace "mmcblk0p3" with to successfuly backup my efs on Galaxy Grand?

Yes it varies with device, you need to explore pit file to know efs partition block.

This would be my last post regarding Grand and not Note 2.

I figured out my efs block and i think i have successfully made a *.img out of it. It is again 20MB in size just like it was when i did it on Note 2.

The terminal output was exactly like the one you have in your OP. Same number of bytes transferred. Same number of records in/out etc.
The only difference was that my transfer rate was 11 times as compared to the 5th screenshot and it completed on 0.9 seconds. (that doesn't matter, i guess!)

How to be sure about what i did was correct and that i have successfully backed up the required efs partition?

Sdcard1 is for int SD card or ext sdcard?

Sdcard1 for external memory as in AOSP roms the internal is 0 and external is 1.

I did it myself at first i didnt notice that i have to change that section but when i change it to to sdcard1 it worked and saved in the external.

Hey Dr.ketan,
Just noticed that on aosp, the command should be sdcard1 instead of extsdcard. There is difference between mounting names in aosp and touchwiz.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize that it was sdcard1. Finally backed up my efs. Many thanks!
