Just to keep updated, I've tried numerous mentioned things to no avail. I tried a data recovery on my sdcard hoping to find an old backup there but no luck, I also tried a data recovery on /efs but no luck there either.

At this point am I SOL?
Wow.
I fixed it.

I ran a data recovery on the efs partition and found there was one file that had been deleted during the update. I restored that to /efs, rebooted and reflashed back to the old build based on MC3 with the old modem again rebooted and everything works.

Phew. Not the best way to start a monday, but glad I got it working again.

Did you unlock your phone at any point of time ?
If yes, it might have been locked again.
Make sure the imei is correct by dialing *#06#

Hey guys! When I rooted my phone, I did an EFS backup because it was recommended. I have saved it in three different folders on my PC just to be secure.

Anyway, since I did a EFS backup on my stock 4.1.2 rooted rom, will it always restore my Imei on other custom roms or do I nees to revert back to the exact same stock rooted rom? I got a nandroid backup of the stock rooted rom on my pc as well.

You are in the absolutely wrong thread.
Anyways, just wipe data and reboot.

After 24 hours of non-stop action trying to save my phone's life (obviously I lost my EFS backup 6 months ago), this thread got me back my IMEI. For some reason, my IMEI changed into something that's different from what I originally had. I know my stuff very well so I didn't bother to check the modem part of it. I never had the instance to flash a different radio so who would have thought that a simple flashing of modem would resolve my issue?

Awesome!!

I tried to upgrade from Omega 16 to Omega 18 earlier today and after four hours I got a working phone again, back on Omega 16. My phone came back from SDS Repair and as such I've had to apply ARIZA Patch after a new ROM, but it looks like the ARIZA patch doesn't work on the newer modems? As such, after I applied the ARIZA Patch it would still not register on the network. I thought I'd blown away my EFS, but despite many restore attempts I could not get it to work (I had multiple backups of EFS and Omega backs up before install too).

In the end, at some point I actually DID corrupt my EFS (so my IMEI was incorrect, normally it was correct). At that point I restored my EFS again then ran Ariza Patch (on Omega v16) and everything is working. But since a bad EFS wasn't the problem, my phone just would not register on the network with the XXDMG1 or any modems I tried with v18, I had to go back to v16. Is there any way for me to fix this?

At this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=32753333 I found this that works for MTK processors:
1- go to em with this code "* # * # 3646633 # * # *" (just type it on call pad)
2- then follow that path --> CDS info --> Radio info --> Phone1 (for the first imei)
3- at the top there is a command line which begins "AT+" just type there "AT +EGMR=1,7,"IMEI_1" (instead of IMEI_1 put your first imei number)
4- hit send command
5-if you done just reboot the phone, if you change the second imei go to step 2 and select "Phone2"
6-and enter the code "AT +EGMR=1,10,"IMEI_2" (instead of IMEI_2 put your second imei number) hit send command
7-reboot
Maybe it can work for other marks in case em code is available.
