Hello Guys,

i found this video where someone is showing the new dark mode on EMUI 10.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1enMV-ebGo&feature=youtu.be

There is a "Apply everywhere" option in the settings right under the dark mode, but it's not there if I try it on my P30 Pro with EMUI 10.

Does anybody know why this is like that or how to fix that?
Thats odd you would think it to be, this feature was on my oneplus 7t but in developer option maybe it's there poss

It will be added in final version, the official release. The stable release will also include new AOD, bubble notifications and more. Stay tuned for as i heard it will be released globally sometime in December ?
What we have now on our devices is just a Pre-Release version, that's why it's not bundled with all the good stuffs they've promissed to bring on EMUI 10 and is distributed through HiCare and not through normall OTA.

Well, this turned out to be false.
I just got EMUI 10 on the P30 (the stable, full final version) and the option to force Dark Mode is NOT there. So it seems to me that Huawei removed it from the final version.

Hi m8,

Since i've shared the post you've quoted, Huawei had a press conference where they said:
''According to Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei Consumer Business Software, these 8 smartphones will receive the Colorful AOD feature as soon as the first quarter of 2020. Huawei P20 Pro and other OLED display smartphones may receive this later.''
Source - https://www dot huaweicentral dot com/emui-10-colorful-aod-feature-will-rollout-in-q1-2020/amp/

Don't know why they choose to do it this way, but in the end is their choice when or how to update the AOD interfacev(on Mate 30 / Mate 30 Pro is available since release).

In order to force dark mode on EMUI 10, you can use an ADB command:
Enable Dark Mode: adb shell settings put secure ui_night_mode 2
Disable Dark Mode: adb shell settings put secure ui_night_mode 1

Is this any different from Dark mode from Display menu? I mean, will it force it on apps that do not have the option?

Nope and don't know for sure if it's because of that adb command or not, but on the apps that have dark/white/follow the system color scheme it opens by default in dark mode (Messages, Gmail, Chrome, Google Photos, Google, Google PlayStore, Shazam, Microsoft Outlook just few that i've tested).
Huawei should implement in developer mode force dark mode across all apps in order to workon all apss, but untill this day, it seems just a marketing scam (as the new AOD) from Huawei

Well, that already worked for me after I enable Dark Mode from normal menu..all apps that support dark mode have it enabled, except for Messenger from Facebook that needs to be activated manually. I was mostly interested to see if Facebook can be forced to use a dark interface(I know about a modded apk,but it's an older version...and I don't like the apps like Maki or others that just use the web interface darkened...that I can do from browser anyway). Thank you anyway.

We'll see what Huawei will offer us in next firmwares, maybe they will add that option too in developer mode...

the beta emui 10 made all apps force dark mode including facebook app. but got surprised with the stable one not getting that feature.
I have a realme x2 pro with colorOS 6.1 and it's dark mode is crazy you can manually force an app to use dark mode or not. that's the only feature I like about it lol hope Huawei implements the same idea
