As mentioned in post 877 of this thread I RMA'd the OP6T for a replacement. The issue of the captured call audio being distorted occurred on that unit as well. I surmise it's a problem with the OP6T's and so have returned it and continued my search for a new phone with reliable and decent sounding call recording.

Here's the distorted audio of the OP6T's Native Call Recorder: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vVZe_2jsXsnzK_kG2DAsUMVtAWphOTDm/view?usp=sharing
Here's the same call but on my Galaxy S5: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bqb3rPJd7y25KEvvg5-ldea6wlRSjcNO/view?usp=sharing

I'm wondering if the OP7 models do better.

Can any OP7 owners using the native call recorder comment on the sound quality of recorded calls. Particularly when recording in .AAC format via earbuds connect by a USB-C to TRRS adapter.

What is the sample rate of the recording in khz, how does it sound upon playback. Maybe even do a test call and share it as an example.
Hello, by searching this thread for op7 you'll find at least my reports that everything is ok, the same OK as on my previous op5 :good:

What program do you use for analyzing the frequency and which headset?

I'm using an usb-c adapter along with apple ear pods

I use MediaInfo on my PC. Here's a link to it: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

My headset during testing was the Bose SoundSport InEar Headphones - Android/Samsung version . I don't think it matters though, as the problem was present even without using headphone; just that it was much worse with headphones.

Searching this thread for "Strongst OP7" all I found was this post in which you stated "OP7, OB5, Magisk 20.1 everything OK!".

I'm hoping to get more details. I understand that calls will record, but my concern is the quality of the recording.

Any possibility you could do a test call, record it, upload, and share like I did in my previous post?

Perhaps that could become part of tracking the effectiveness of the modules call recording. I prefer calling a government institution with a robot menu for such testing alongside speaking into my microphone.

I updated post #880 with a link providing more details on my testing methods. Including here as well for our current discussion: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...gs-call-recording-or-voice-recording.1192392/

PM me that number, I'll call them, so you'll have a good comparison :cowboy:

Latest version with device manufacturer check gives "failed to install" error reporting it as "unsupported" but I have always ran this mod on my OP7t.

Edit: already tried uninstalling module & reinstalling without change.

That's weird. When you installed the module, there should be a oosnativecallrecordingenabler-debug.log that must've generated in your internal storage (it is in the folder in which your module would've downloaded to, usually /storage/emulated/0/Download). Could you share that? I'll have a look.

Meanwhile, you can use the old zip (linked in the OP of this thread), and it should work fine.

Sorry, guess I didn't attach the log previously, wish I could say never done that before.

Thanks for your time.

Same here with OP 7T Pro, OOS 10.0.7.HD01BA.
Used to run perfect with OOS Call Recording Enabler v8.0.
Thanks for the report guys! Please download the attached test zip, and flash it in Magisk Manager. It shold hopefully fix the detection issue. If it does, please let me know and I'll push out an update to Magisk Repo for the same :)

Guys, sorry to inform, but the module has been removed from Magisk Repo. John decided that the repo should not have any device/manufacturer specific modules, and he cleaned up the repo. I will still update the module, and post about the same here, but the update won't be available in the repo anymore, so you'll have to manually download the module from the first post and install. I recommend bookmarking this thread. :good:

Thank You for Your work. Noticed that module is gone from repo today, and went to look for v9.1 file don download just in case. I'm on 6T and that module was very important for me, as it's so handy to be able not to ask someone to wait till You grab a pen to write down address or phone number, etc.
John decision will put a lot of restrictions on magisk modules, for no reason in my humble opinion. Sad to see that. But it is what it is.
Maybe it would be worth now to open topic on this module only, as it's thru one plus devices and not o only 5T.

7T with OOS 10.0.8 and module 8.0 was working great, but i updated to 10.0.9 and doesn't work anymore. I tried with module versions 8.0 and 9.1. Rebooted a lot. I disabled the adapative battery optimizations. Nothing worked.
Tried now with jOneplus tools and is working now, but i would prefer to use this module.

So I don't usually feel this dumb about tech but... How do you easily find and play back the recorded calls?

I've got recording working fine now, but the only way I can find the recorded files is in the File manager and the only way to open them would be a third party audio app...

That can't be right can it? Is there some way to find/play back/delete recorded calls through the dialer? Or another default system app?

Sent from my OnePlus6T using XDA Labs

Use the built in recorder app and swipe left. You got all records :good:

I bet you didn't uninstall (not the same as disabling!) the module before updating OOS. Read the OP (important read me point # 1).

Hey Shadow,
I have a problem with Magisk Enable Native Call Recording Module v.9.1.

I attach the log file.
OnePlus 7 Pro, OOS 10.0.5
What Magisk version are you on?
