Hi,
I have a Lumia 635 on cricket. I see that some of you have got this to work. The issue for me is I know nothing about windows phone. When I look at the threads which show apps for interopunlock, they're very old and only for samsung phones. It seems that the first thing is to interopunlock the phone and then push this xap to the phone somehow ("deploy"), but I just can't find any info on how to do this. I'm not a wp8 rev by any means. I've had plenty of android devices rooted in the past, but wp8 hacking is definitely a different kettle of fish.

Can someone help me understand what the steps are on a Lumia 635?

Wow ok I'll try wptweaker then. One thing, I have denim, will that be a problem? Seems the only thing I need to do is dev unlock the phone and push this xap to the phone, correct?

Nope, you also need to "interop" (or "caps")-unlock it first. It works for all Lumia models with sd-card (check the corresponding topic).
Ok, I dev unlocked, deployed a tool that allowed me to interop unlock. Did an interop unlock and then deployed WPtweaker. In WPtweaker I selected "on" to the internet sharing option. Powered off phone, powered phone back on. Went to settings but couldn't find the internet sharing option.

The interesting part is that after the denim update I had an internet sharing option there. I selected to enable it and got the error "sharing is not available right now". Googling around about that is how I got to this thread. Interestingly, now that sharing option seems to be missing. It seems like the option in wptweaker is not having an effect either. After enabling it and rebooting it does not seem to have changed.

Ok just noted that if I enable the option and then don't reboot, my internet sharing option is there, and I don't get the error. Seems the tethering works now! Thanks!

Hi all, I tried to do this on my old T-Mobile Lumia 810 (which is running on 8.1 via Preview for Developers (T-Mobile never updated it past Amber I believe)). Everything worked great till i tied get into the substituted Extras & info, and i got the following error on the lumia: " "error initializing. check if you have correct permissions (ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES). registry functions disabled"."

What gives? will I be able to do this on my T-Mobile Lumia 810?

W10 10166

So I updated to Windows 10 Version 10166 on my Lumia 920
The keys related to internet sharing are different.
Also maybe of interest to others there appears to be no cap on the mobile hotspot "tethering"
T-Mobile throttles me down to a ridiculous low speed after 7GB of 4G on my current plan. However on the phone I have unlimited 4G internet.

Then I updated to 10166 and surprisingly no cap:p

Sorry to bump the thread. I can't find any information on getting tethering to work on W10 for Mobile. What keys did you change to make this work? I changed the ICSSVC reg settings and that allowed me to enable the hotspot on my phone, but my laptop cannot connect to it.

I'm on Cricket BTW. Lumia 1520 from AT&T

Build 10581

What happens when you try to connect? Does the Wifi hotspot actually turn on succesfully, but your laptop just can't connect to the network created by the hotspot? Can the laptop technically connect but can't access the Internet?

My laptop sees the network and tries to connect but cannot.

Edit: just for clarification, yes my phone successfully enables mobile hotspot.

What's the error? What OS are you using?

Can you connect if you turn off security on your hotspot?
Running Windows 10 Pro on my laptop.

This is the error I get:

also, I looked, but couldn't see how to disable security on the hotspot. ideally i don't really want to do this because i don't really want strangers connecting to my phone and using my data

EDIT: interesting. I just tried it on an android tablet and it connected ok. I think it has to do with wps because my laptop never asks me for a security key. it just tries to connect and fails. I'll see if i can just create a profile for it in the wireless settings and have it try to connect that way.

This works fine on my Cricket Lumia 640, but I just got my wife an AT&T 640 (on Cricket though) and this is not working. It still gives the error saying to enable tethering go to or call .

Any ideas?

I just edited the first two items on my Cricket Lumia 640 running Windows 10 Mobile 10.0.14393.5, and it worked like a charm. I did not need to enter iscsvc settings.

I have an AT&T Lumia 640 that I use with Straight talk, updated "EntitlementRequired" from 1 to 0 and it worked right away. BTW my Windows Mobile version is 10, build 10.0.14393.103
