Got it. This guide is is pretty spot on. Just run everything as administrator.
http://blog.defron.org/2013/01/openvpn-server-on-windows.html?m=1

Hmm...vpn still dropping sometimes. We'll see. It's up and running for now anyways, and it auto-reconnects at least. It actually looks like it's happening when the radio goes idle, which it does often - for power saving purposes I would think.
Don't have my own home OpenVPN server, but my work VPN (L2TP) and Private Internet Access (PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN) both continually drop on LTE. It is a KitKat problem, and I assumed it was fixed in 4.4.3 or 4.4.4, so I sold the Note 3 and got a M8. Even running AOSP 4.4.4 it still drops, so it *may* be fixed with L which will take a while.

Gotcha. Thanks. I won't worry about trying to fix it then.

Humm..an unlimited data offer on eBay? I didn't think you could transfer ownership of an account. I'm not sure one way or the other. Just be careful it's not a scam.

Yes. I work at Verizon and if you do an assumption of liability change it over your social you run the risk of a deposit or worse they will make you change to a newer plan when the liability goes over. Sucks I know. I will never let go of my unlimited. Throttled or not.

And if you do buy the ownership or whatever so jot give the social. Verizon just needs your name and a temporary password created by the person giving the line over to you. Don't give that person any info other than your name and they should give you the password they create. Honestly I wouldn't trust it one bit

Also not too mention I'm pretty sure you cannot do an assumption of Liability without choosing a plan and since the unlimited plan is no longer available you'll never be able to actually have full control of the line.

Unlimited everything $130 a month.

$90 Unlimited talk & Text
$30 Unlimited Data

I don't even get data at my current house, since I've moved here verizon has not had service, I believe Comcast has all the towers locked down here and will not let Verizon use them. Subsequently my data has gone from abou 6gbs a month to 1.3. Its bad news that they are going to throttle now because true unlimited data was my only incentive.

I would get throttled way back in the day, when I had my droid Bionic because I'd illegal tether, and even game via hotspot. talking 30+ gb a month.

My work phone is sprint and the coverage is pretty good all over Houston, I honestly could use it as a personal. If verizon ends up throttling me I'll probably just end up canceling. and carrying my number over to sprint and have work pay for it.

Another blow to unlimited folks ... Big Red making (discounted) upgrades for unlimited folks even more difficult:

Hey thanks for this. I forgot about this loophole. I have been having trouble with my Note 3 since the Kitkat update and since I did not buy my phone from Verizon they have been no help. So used this trick to upgrade on one line and will move it over to my unlimited line.

I guess those of us that have tranferred upgrades to other line and then activated the new phone back on our unlimited line and now have new 2 year contract are safe ;)

i believe the fcc has stated verizon cannot throttle 4g users that would mean everyone verizon cant just add an exclusion to it

They have already been throttling me. I can not even stream a youtube video without constant buffering. Been this way for awhile especially during peak hours.
Just use youtube from the browser the app only works good on wifi.

They pull that crap on me and I'm leaving Verizon for good.
If I loose my unlimited ill just get a basic phone. No point of paying extra for a smart phone if you cant use it. Ill just use my tablet on wifi or get a verizon tablet thats 10 bucks a month vs 40

Speed test on weak 4g.. Maybe just weak 4g results but I feel throttled.. Probably just in my head.. Debating on buying the note 4 off contract and keeping unlimited or thinking about the max plan other whatever if they still offer it.. Just worried I'll buy it retail and get screwed

I wouldn't be too concerned i do tests at that connectivity and it's miserable but when I jump up to 2 bars it skyrockets to 10MBps

I do notice on certain times of the day my 4g drops down to allmost dail up speeds.
There's no doubt they are throttling. About three months ago I noticed I couldn't barely use my phone anymore without switching it over to WIFI.

Actually, since they're killing that loop hole with the second account, should I upgrade the second line I've been hanging onto for awhile now? Or do you have to keep the line active for a month or something?

I've never actually used the loophole to get an upgrade...
