I think Samsung would have done something by now. :)
Don't think we have anything to worry about. But they are probably increasing security internally though to prevent these leaks from getting out.
For all we know Samsung allowed for these files to get out. They know a pool of customers is unhappy. They made have provided just enough to shut down the hate.

Now we are not out of the woods because we can never upgrade our phones with a locked bootloader without safestrap like app

I can confirm this works on the Verizon s7 edge, i skipped the factory reset step and didnt get any bootloops or anything too bad. I will say though my phone is much more laggy than before and i keep getting security notices and sometimes it runs hot but besides that everything seems to be working fine.

Heimdall Flash made EZ

This is tempting but I only have a raspberry pi to help me recover. Can't find out how to extract tar and flash in heimdall. When I do it is just 2 files under 2mm
Heres the command syntax:
You have to let heimdall know what you're flashing so its
heimdall flash --[whatyoureflashing] [fileyoureflashing]
heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --SYSTEM system.img --CACHE charge.img
i rather it to ODIN cuz you can flash only what you want without having to untar and retar all the files.
