Does it need to be installed on top of cm11? Tried to TWRP factory reset then install a couple of times and just got stuck of grey kindle fire logo, wiping cache/dalvik didn't help.

You should just need to wipe system and data. Did you installed the first zip ? I forget to remove some oc code in it so it could be that. Also, it could be useful for me to know if it worked for someone :)

Don't think I wiped system, just basic factory reset in twrp. Tried with the original zip, downloading the new one now and will wipe data too before installing.

No luck I'm afraid, stuck at grey logo again. CM11 installs fine but both CM12 zips won't cooperate.
Hum ok :/

Then we'll have to wait for more reports to see. At least it work fine here so maybe I need to update twrp or your firmware files. By the way, what is exactly your device ? Mine is thor 16gb WiFi only, and I comes from 3.2.4 bootloader but updates non-hlos (firmwares) to 4.5.3.

Thor 16GB WiFi, latest TWRP, 3.2.3.2 bootloader (bypassed, not unlocked). I'll try a few more things and report back if I have any luck.

I just updated the twrp recovery thread to lollipop sources, dunno if it can change something. Just be sure to have a working system before flashing it in case of problem, which should'nt happens : http://android.mydedibox.fr/hdx/twrp-recovery-hdx-thor-2.8.5.0_2015-03-09.zip
Tried that with same results, no matter what I do always the same stuck gray logo. All other roms work without issue so I suppose I'll just have to go back to CM11 until I figure this out.
