Is there a custom kernel for cm14 on s5mini g800f. Keep getting robotic voice whilst calling other mobiles. It's been suggested that another kernel might fix it. Any advice?
The robotic voice is related to the device tree. A different kernel will not help. That said, I am and will be working on a kernel for CM14. I will not release it until CM14 is out of the early stages though. It just becomes too confusing with problems and if they are kernel related or ROM related.
Same with robotic voice. If this doesn't get solved with updates I will look to do something similar to what I did with CM13 to try to "fix" it.

Hi Spookcity,

I was curious if there is a chance you will be updating your kernel with the MM kernel source when it comes out, I am still experiencing small bugs in slimrom (which has become my favorite, so thanks!) which will probably be solved with the MM kernel. I would do it myself but I have yet to find the time to learn how to compile a custom kernel.

Kind regards,
Knoose

Possibly, it really all depends on a few things. Mostly how easy it is to merge things. Either way,it is something I plan to look into definitely.

Ok that would be great! In the mean time, is it hard to build your own kernel? I really would like to try and put my hand to it so I don't have to nag devs like you about this kind of thing.
I have looked around for a bit and I have seen one needs linux, this is not a problem for me as I am familiar with Ubuntu and Raspbian.
If I find the time in the future, is there a tutorial you can recommend me or do I just cherry pick one from the xda forums?

Best, Knoose

If you are familiar with Linux it is not super difficult in my opinion. Adding certain things can be a bit tricky. Here is a link to a helpful thread. I'm more than willing to try to help if you have any problems or questions.

Hey spook! Any updates? Can you add fading led notification? *-* it's amaziiiing
I have spent most of my limited free time lately messing with the proprietary MM libs and trying to get some of those going. I may have some free time tonight. If I do I will try to implement fading LED's. I will send you a link if I do as I need a tester to make sure I do it right :D

Are you going to release this kernel for CM14 as well?
Well, I mean I could, but the problem is I don't want to cause confusion as far as any issues and if they are related to the ROM or the kernel. Especially now since CM is no more. I will probably wait until a build of lineage OS is released and go from there.
That said, whenever I have this ready I am willing to message anyone who is interested a link to a CM14 version to test.
