Flashing with CWM Worked for me first time im happy !! However i just need to know the settings on your website are they suitable for my S3 thanks

I am not aware there are settings on my web site at all. Just documentation, which is rather outdated.

But there are threads for every kernel with people maintaining profiles and settings. This would be the place to go for you.

Well, I've finally jumped ship and now I'm with a titan grey LG G5. The phone is incredible, but my glorious and unbreakable S3 will remain as my backup phone. Thank you Andi for your fantastic kernel (and ZaneZam for your alternative compilations), I will surelly miss the ultra fine configuration that I've enjoyed for so much time :good::good::good:

Hello Lord Boeffla, i've been using your kernel with Blekota Note 4 since 2 years ago I think and there's no problem.

Today when I opened up the Boeffla Config app, it shows this:
4Q7jXYP.png

Before it show this, it tells the busybox is missing. Then I closed the app and opened it back, it shows above error.
What am I doing? Can you tell me why. Thanks Lord!

Well, dou you have a file called busybox under /sbin?

Have you recently installed Stericson Busybox? Because Stericson busybox can delete kernel busybox during every device start - which needs to be switched off.

Also, getting me your bc.log file would help to see more.

Ok, interesting. I can replicate it.

Need to look into that.

Edit: Found it already, a shell command is not supporting selinux information, so it fails.
Damn these old firmwares :)

No, I didn't installed any busybox.

But yeah, got that fixed after the latest boeffla config app update. Thanks Lord for making my phone alive until now!

One question.

Is there still a kernel for the S3 with TW around? I want to reset my flashcounter or is there a new way to do this?

Thank you

In the EOL download section, there is the kernel for latest official 4.3 (I believe it was) stock firmware available.

And no, I do not know any other way of doing that. However I figured out the flash counter did not bother me anymore that time, so I did not care about it.

And now I am glad I dumped development for Samsung phones and moved to OnePlus, they do not have that crap like flash counters etc.

I want to download s6 or s5 rom in my phone s3 i9300 so pls give me the link to download it
Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Please understand that this is a specific kernel thread, no help section. If you are looking for any rom, please see the development section and search on your own.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development
There is no such thing as a rom straight from another phone. If you are lucky someone made a so called "port" to your device.

In any case I would highly suggest you familiarize yourself with the basic knowledge before you do anything to your device:

@Lord Boeffla
I think u should know about how graphic driver works because it is a part of the kernel
so if i want to downgrade graphic driver to r2p4 in s3 rom which lib should I replace in /system/lib?

Libs are parts of rom = not my deal.

The graphics driver is part of the kernel. So in order to downgrade the graphics driver, you need to downgrade to a kernel that has this driver version included.

It is not that simple, you could change that by replacing files, sorry.

here old mali driver...use it with boeffla branch 6.9
http://www.mediafire.com/file/cviy02r9n0q9n6d/PATCH-nik60-RETURN-6.X-boeffla-4.4.4.zip

here if you want new mali driver -use with boeffla 7.9

    *** NOTE: All kernels are now officially end-of-life (EOL).
    Please do not expect any more updates for them in future, no maintenance and no bugfixing. ***

    Hi all,

    this is the thread about the well-known Boeffla-Kernel for the Samsung Galaxy S3 international.

    Compatibility

    Important: This kernel is only meant to be compatible with official Samsung Stock firmware and nothing else.
    So when the kernel does not run on custom rom XYZ, do not even bother me with it or ask hundred times in the thread for compatibility.
    I could not care less about it !!

    Notes:
    Never install it on CM or AOSP based roms!!!

    • Kernel version 5.x are only for Samsung based Jelly Bean 4.3.x roms!!!

    • Kernel version 6.x is only for ported Samsung based Kitkat 4.4.2 roms (e.g. Archiport) !!!

    • Kernel version 7.x is only for ported Samsung based Kitkat 4.4.4 roms (e.g. back-to-n00t) !!!

    • Kernel versions 1-4 are only for Samsung based Jelly Bean 4.1.x roms!!! (no development anymore)

    For the CM Boeffla-Kernel, please go HERE.

    If you have questions to settings, presets, others configuration and wanna share your configuration, head over to the unofficial Boeffla-Config App Config sharing thread:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2621308

    Support

    First read the FAQ section on the Homepage !!!

    Click here to learn about all possible kernel settings in the config app.
    Click here to learn about using the config app.

    I will refuse to give support if you do any undervolting and experience freezes or hot reboots.

    I will also not provide any support if you do not use Boeffla-Config app to tweak the kernel, other 3rd party tweaking apps are known (and intended) to cause issues.

    History

    Basically I created Boeffla-Kernel as there was no kernel for the Samsung Galaxy S3 around that had exactly the mix of functionalities that I wanted. I wanted to have full flexibility in undervolting and charge rates for instance, but did not like the sharpness and/or brightness tweaks many kernels have implemented as per default.

    Hence, I began to create my own kernel after a while, adding all the features I like. This is the result of my work, which in the end I decided to share with you. I hope you like it as much as I do.

    The objective of this kernel is to have a kernel for daily use. It does not aim for best battery life, or best smoothness or best benchmark scores. It aims more for a good mix of all, not sacrificing stability and functionality in the end.
    And - most important: It aims to stay quite close to stock !!!

    This said, I will definitely NEVER implement:

    • dual boot (I do not need it)
    • color "calibration" (I do not like it, but I like the crispy stock colours)
    • real hard overclocking higher than 1600 MHz as this is outside of Exynos specs
    • f2fs - it is known to cause various issues and compatibility problems
    • anything that requires upstreaming of kernel parts to a higher kernel major version
    So do not even ask for it. Everything else I am happy to check and decide.

    Compatibility

    To reiterate it again: This kernel is only for Samsung based Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.x) firmwares. It is not designed to run on AOSP based roms!

    Configuration of the kernel

    To tweak and configure the kernel, manually load and install the app "Boeffla-Config V2" from the downloads section on www.boeffla.de.

    If you like my work, feel free to donate: Donation-Link

    You will receive a personal donation code which unlocks some nice comfort functions in Boeffla-Config V2 on top.

    Credits to developers

    Of course, I had never been able to create all that by my own. So I want to give credits to the really good developers around, that have given me all the inspiration and from which I cherry picked lots of the implemented functionalities:

    * Yank555
    * ZaneZam
    * Hardcore
    * Chainfire
    * Harunjo
    * AndreiLux
    * Netarchy
    * Gokhanmoral

    * Supercurio
    * Mialwe
    * Entropy512
    * Faux

    ... I just hope I did not forget someone. If so, please let me know and I will add you of course.
    Thanks to all of you for your great work !!!

    Disclaimer

    *** As always - Flash on our own risk! ***

    Make sure you flash the correct version depending on your firmware version!

    I can and will not take any responsibility for bricked phones or lost data.

    It is generally recommended to run a complete Nandroid backup in CWM recovery and safely store your personal data before you flash a new kernel.

    Cheers and enjoy
