Thanks T1mb3! Do you know of any Nexus 5X roms out there that incorporate your BLOD fix? If not, how easy would it be to add your fix to a rom? Was wondering if there's any good Android Pie roms out there for this phone. Thanks!

It's the same process for every rom.
You can request a rom and I can make a fix. Now I have more freetime.
In rom zips the boot.img is located inside the zip, so if you are a diy person, just extact it and apply the fix and flash the boot.img seperately or replace in the zip.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I'd like to install the latest 4core fix for the 5X. I've previously and successfully installed the the factory image "8.1.0 (OPM7.181205.001, Dec 2018)", installed the modified TWRP for 4 core (3.2.1) and patched the boot image with "N5X-6P_BLOD_Workaround_Injector_Addon-AK2-signed.zip". All is fine. 5X boots OK, and I can get into TWRP recovery without issues. I loaded the latest 5xEX5_034core.zip using TWRP and after that the boot does not complete. It sits on the animation with the coloured circles and balls with the animation working, but the Android logo will not appear. I had to revert to the N5X-6P BLOD workaround in order to boot.

What am I doing wrong for the 5xEX5_034core.zip not to work as expected?
