The error is gone.

I'm getting a dalvic rebuild on every boot. Enabled zipalign and flashed the created zip. Even after several reboots it still happens.

EDIT: device is galaxy nexus with android 4.3

Which file do I download? I see three 1.1.1 files and each download with a long name

Chachan you answered 1 of my questions (DNA) I've been studying the forums for a week trying to figure out where the Single zip is? Other than all the android, app, bin, lib etc

Yay it worked :) thanks so much! I just migrated over to 4.4 and missed odex and a quick Google search made me end up with your thread.

I tried installing this on my Moto Defy running cm11 and TWRP. Well first I got and error in terminal saying odex --- not found.
So I manually copied everythign to the right places ...fixed permissions and now I get
:Segmentation Fault: error

Please guide me as to what I can do. The zip does not work in TWRP.

Well, for some strange reason afer wiping dalvik and cache...it worked. Now of course my system restarted abruptly when odexing "services.jar"

have you installed the flashable that my script created with system optimized (removed classes.dex and zipaligned)? You find this zip in your sdcard and it is called "Optimized-System_NAMEOFYOURDEVICE.zip". Flash it by recovery and the problem will be fixed :)
Where is this zip? I can't find it in my sdcard. I odexed all my apps and I get optimizing apps on every boot.
I get no return value when I type set in terminal too after odex.

Just applied this and I can feel the significant improvement THX!!
BTW, what does 'customization more/less' mean? What can I do with a Deodexed ROM or what I can't do with a Odexed ROM?

You won't be able to use mods that do things like change colours in apps if your ROM is odexed. Like features in Slim or PA.

One more thing... after having odexed my ROM... All apps that I install afterwards will be odexed ones right??

A silly question to ask but I used another odexing script and the ROM seemed to be odexed. However when I installed third party apps, they had their .dex files in dalvik folder.

Hi manish19, with this tool you may have odexed your current system apps and framework, what you install after this won't be automatically odexed.
If you want it, you could try odexing all apps in data with the other MatrixDJ96's tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2390162 .
Cheers. Good luck.

But why is it like this?

Is there no way in which we can change this as well? i.e apps are also installed as odexed.

Can you tell me where this is governed? Is it in the framework or someplace else?
