Thanks for your reply.

The problem is it's a perfect example of the contradictory advise on the forum.

Post #700 says flash the rom THEN flash SU & the fix
Your post says Flash SU THEN flash the rom, and doesn't (expressly) mention flashing the fix.....

Serious clarity is needed here....

.....

You can not describe the taste of a cake, you should try it. Try it

If you move from stock to this cleaned stock rom, you need to format (not wipe!) /data to remove the encryption on the /data partition. To keep the system from reencrypting it on first boot, you need to flash SuperSu or Magisk directly after you formatted the /data partition. If you move from an older version of this rom to an updated one, you shouldn't need to format /data again, if you flash your root-solution right after flashing the update.

Hi,

I tried your suggestion of Format Data - Flash SU (I also flashed the fix immediately after flashing SU) - Flash Rom.

After tab booted into system after the install, I did all the Developer mode stuff i.e. USB Debugging/Unknown Sources, and rebooted.

When tablet rebooted, I clicked on the SU icon in the apps draw......and got a message that the tablet was not rooted.

Hi. Your fail. After d) not need flash supersu. I propose the next :
Do wipes : system, cache, dalvik.
Flash this build of ULR
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=889764386195926873 .
Then flash supersu and fix .
Reboot to system.
Then after you set settings you can install all that you want and xposed too. Xposed guide https://www.xda-developers.com/official-xposed-framework-android-nougat/
or https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 .

Hiya,

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.

Your advice worked perfectly!!!

Just to add, I've removed bloatware the using Titanium Backup. I've found that you SHOULD NOT clear cache using TB's menu after removing an app. Just remove the app(s); reload TB from the menu screen, then reboot the device. Hope this helps others.

Once again, many many thanks. My Tab A runs as smooth as butter :)

Change CSC?

First of all let me say congratulations on your ROM. I have just got a Tab SM-T580 and so far have been very pleased with this ROM. One question (sorry I am a "newbe" to all this). Is it possible to change the CSC on this ROM? I was wondering if I could flash using Oden, the original CSC file or maybe by using "CSC Selection V1.2.5" as I have done on my Samsung S7 phone or is there another alternative? Any help gratefully accepted.

What are you trying to do? Change the CSC to another country? The T580 is WiFi only, why would you like to change the CSC?

Thank you for your reply cavinrocks. Yes I understand that the T580 is WiFi only. I originally got this in Spain and then using Odin re-flashed to the latest official firmware T580XXU2BQI9_T580BTU2BQI9_BTU for UK and then to Ultra Lean ROM. But I see that Ultra Lean ROM has a CSC for ILO (Israel / IL) and just as a personal preference would like to if possible change to BTU. I assume it is possible to change on the Tab A6 sim model? But I cannot find an answer to my question.

If it's that important to you, just try it. Find a BTU CSC (maybe extract it from the original Samsung ROM?), make a backup of everything in the TWRP Recovery and flash it via Odin :fingers-crossed: let us know if that worked.

All stock based roms not change your CSC becouse they change only system image.

Once again thank you for taking the time to reply. I have tried flashing via Odin the CSC file and you are right repey6 it will not change the csc file on the ROM. It is not important that I change this file! I just wonder why Samsung make the ROM for this TAB SM-T580 with different csc files? It is now a "quest" to know if it is possible to change, as no-one has told me that it not possible to do so. I am still tempted to try "CSC Selection V1.2.5" via TWRP which I have for my Samsung S7 but I fear I my brick my device.

Really hope this was the latest build

I have built this ROM for the T580 but I have no way to test it as I have the LTE version of the device.. so I request the T580 users to test it and let me know ;)

V3.0 Changelog (SM-T580):
=======================

* Based on MMB29K.T580XXU1APH4 (thanks Samsung)
* Security Patch September 2016
* Added A.R.I.S.E. Sound System - Deutronomy 1.92
* Added Simple Reboot App

DOWNLOAD
ULTRA LEAN ROM V3.0 (SM-T580) (WIFI)

Want to start this post with THANK YOU TO THE DEV!!! Trying to spend hundreds on a device & actually gain control of it with Samsung is a "dog chase tail" proposition! I have been down the Lineage path to the tune of just under $500 & still have no polished ROM for my phone so anything that will strip Knox, get McAfee off this T580 I purchased is a God send!
Hope this was the latest build, took 30 minutes downloading. Should have transferred it to my MEGA I guess.....

It all works off source code. When originally compiling a ROM, which entails "what will, or what will NOT" be included. It is at THIS time the CSC is determined. IE... original source code. Only what Samsung offers is what can be chosen from. The risk of losing your IMEI or other type ingrained information is a R-E-A-L possibility so look to backing this information up before playing.

Sitting on a fresh install on T580. Already flashed no-dm-verity script by ashby & Magisk. What do I do in flashing the Ultra Slim ROM besides whats in OP? I downloaded the post for the T580 on about the 2nd or 3rd page then was brought to the end of this thread when posting. Reading backwards right now..... found this to be the best way to get up-to-date!
Thanks,
zach

    Boom! Oreo Update!

    Helloooooe people! Been a long time, I just saw our TAB A got the Oreo update from Samsung, sooooo I thought I should flash it since I was having some spare time over the weekend, then I saw a few threads about the boot loader roll back issues, so I decided to bring this ROM back to life, well I haven't done much, just a bit of usual de-bloating, the Oreo ROM seems a bit sensitive, I deleted a few apps and the camera started giving an FC, so I tested over the weekend and kept whatever was necessary now it seems stable, the ROM generally feels a bit sluggish though... probably future updates from Samsung should iron out the bugs....

    Anyways, note that I am still super busy and this might be the only release I do for Oreo, but if and when I am free, will try to release newer updated versions if possible.

    Enjoy the ROM! :D
