Hello,

I´m facing problems with rooting my Tablet SM-T-580 (Wifi Model) with Magisk or SuperSu through TWRP.
Im using newest TWRP 3.2.3-4-gtaxlwifi-OMNI6.

I did the following steps through TWRP (needed files are stored on USB OTG):
Format data = yes.
Did full wipe (everything exept USB OTG).
Reboot into Recovery.
Install Rom --> ULTRA LEAN OREO V11 for SM-T585.
Wipe Cache/Dalvik.
Install Magisk v18.1 or SuperSu v2.82 [ because In the first post it says under "EXTRAS": "2. Download : SuperSU 2.82 (With DATA Encryption)" ]
Wipe Cache/Dalvik.

Everything went through successfully --> No errors at all.

Reboot System.

--> Titanium Backup says: No Root permission.

Now I need your help:
1) What did I do wrong?
2) How do I root my Tablet successfully? Which tool do I have to use, Magisk or SuperSu?

It would be nice to get it working :)

Many thanks in advance.

Wipe Cache/Dalvik.
Install Magisk v18.1 [ because In the first post it says under Root: "Install official Magisk" ].
Wipe Cache/Dalvik.

Everything went through successfully --> No errors at all.

Finally I localised the problem. Don´t know why, but with older Android versions the rom flashing and root installation routine described as above always worked. Did that with various phones and tablets. But for some reason with A8-Oreo and A9-Pie it will only work the following way (All needed files are stored on USB and connected via USB OTG):

- Open Bootloader and Install latest TWRP via Odin
- Boot into TWRP
- in TWRP --> Wipe --> Format data = yes
- in TWRP --> Advanced Wipe --> I clicked and deleted everything except the files needed on the USB OTG
- Now Reboot Recovery
- in TWRP --> Install --> Select Storage and Install (Custom) Rom
- Reboot System (will take a while on first bootup) and setup WiFi
--------
- ONLY if needed: - Turn off and boot into TWRP again --> Install --> Select Storage and Install OpenGapps (1. make sure you get the right one: 32 or 64 Bit Processor; 2. check Compatibility to your (Custom-) Rom --> chose right Android version; 3. Take the package size you want --> I always use the bare minumum which is "Pico" Package)
- Wipe Cache/Dalvik
- Reboot System and go through the installation routine and register your Google Account
--------
- Reboot System
--------
- ONLY if needed: Install latest official Magisk Manager ( APK file !! )
- Reboot into Recovery
- in TWRP --> Install --> Select Storage and install latest official Magisk ( ZIP file !! )
- Reboot System
--> Voila: All done. Root permission granted
- if you want, double check root status with one of the following apps: Magisk Manager, Root checker, Titanium Backup

The above installation routine worked very well for me. I hope, someone else can use this too.
Have a good day

I have a problem with the clipboard in Samsung and Swiftkey keyboard. When I copy text its not in the clipboard so I can't paste it. E.g. in Opera browser. Tried clean install and wipe cache oft clipboard services in settings - apps. Is this a Orio bug? In some apps it works in some not...

That causes the boot to stop with the pulsing Samsung logo.

Hi, do you have working link for this boot.IMG I have same issue with GPS, I tired others boot.IMG from your previous roms but none of them were able to boot with magisk.

I'm running ULTRA LEAN OREO V11 on my T580

This forum and development is dead for this rom, I found this rom and it runs smooth without any lag and issues, also GPS working fine.

Here that rom for other users

Hi all,
Is there any complete/working procedure how to make the installation for T585? Thanks

Hi Jane, I would recommend to use a custom rom like Bliss, as I have not updated this in ages.
And I see no point in updating either as the official from Samsung is stuck on Android 8.1.
Cheers :D

Hi,
as it was not possible to run some latest apps on my T580 with ultra lean rom V5 (rooted), I decided to make an update to V7. Flashing was successful. Unfortunately it is not possibe to install any app. It doesn't matter from which source e.g. apkpure, etc. Did I miss smoething or what went wrong?
Thx

Tried to flash t580v6, stuck in boot screen, can't get out. Help?

How long did you wait? Atleast 5 minutes? De-odexed ROM's take sometime to do the initial boot.
old thread, i know. but....

im stuck too..the android logo to be specific and yes, i have waited more than ten minutes now....
anybody help?
thanks

EDIT: ok got past the android logo finally by using this bit from the above post by capitarider:
- Boot into TWRP
- in TWRP --> Wipe --> Format data = yes

- Now Reboot Recovery

    Boom! Oreo Update!

Helloooooe people! Been a long time, I just saw our TAB A got the Oreo update from Samsung, sooooo I thought I should flash it since I was having some spare time over the weekend, then I saw a few threads about the boot loader roll back issues, so I decided to bring this ROM back to life, well I haven't done much, just a bit of usual de-bloating, the Oreo ROM seems a bit sensitive, I deleted a few apps and the camera started giving an FC, so I tested over the weekend and kept whatever was necessary now it seems stable, the ROM generally feels a bit sluggish though... probably future updates from Samsung should iron out the bugs....

Anyways, note that I am still super busy and this might be the only release I do for Oreo, but if and when I am free, will try to release newer updated versions if possible.

    Enjoy the ROM! :D

    V11.0 Change log (SM-T585):
