I flashed the latest build. Have previously been on Reno. (which i could reboot the day i flashed it) I set it up and used it all day long. Got home and rebooted... Binary issue. N950F. Default CSC and everything. Going back to my OnePlus for the next 7 days...

I have a problem with Stock Camera. I recognized it in v1.0 and also v1.1, both with Full Wipe Installation.
When I press and hold the Shutter Button down, the Camera doesn't create multiple shoots.
I was not sure if this feature exist on Note8, but I tested Dr.Ketans ROM and Burst Mode works fine for the Camera.
Can someone confirm that multiple shoots is not working for stock camera or is it something with my Phone?

Both Camera apk's (IronROM 1.1 and Ketan N5) have the same version, but different size.

VoWifi, VoLTE will only work on your carriers csc.. not on any other one!

Thanks for reply I actually dirty flash but I had backup first rebooted oem unlock was still there but after flashing the update Rom it went away. Can you consider in the future not to auto reboot when flash the Rom. Thanks

The csc was updated in this release (to BQK6). It can easily be that samsung removed the oem unlock for more csc files.

There is no auto reboot in aroma, only if you choose to update the bootloader during the installation. It's even written there that the phone will auto reboot...

Guys, I REALLY need some help.

I liked Batman ROM on my S7 edge and now I want try Ironman on my Note 8.

Although I have been flashing custom recoveries, ROMs and kernels since my Galaxy S2 , I am ashamed to admit that I have already tried to flash TWRP and Ironman about 3 times and each time when I boot the phone I am in Samsung jail again. Tomorrow ( after 28 days) , I´ll have OEM unlock again.

Can anyone *please* send me a guide (as in "the guide for the most stupid newbie in xda" ) on how to flash Iromman correctly on my Note 8 ?

I have done a lot of research and gathered information on various threads and my plan is to reproduce these steps:

1 Download TWRP, verity, magisk or super SU, the rom of your choice that does not hide the OEM unlock toggle
2 Transfer those files to a micro SD card.
3 Remove your sim(s) and insert the micro SD.
4 Go into developer and verify that your OEM switch is visible and in the on position. If it is not visible do not proceed until you have it.
5 Shut down the phone.
6 Boot into downloader by holding vol down/bix/power
7 Open odin and place the TWRP tar in AP
8 Connect the phone
9 Place your mouse curser over the start button on odin but DO NOT start it.
10 Press and hold the vol up/bix/power and do not release them until the entire flash is done and you are in TWRP.
11 While holding thse buttons use a spare finger to press the mouse button which you already placed over start in odin. The flash will go by quickly.
12 You are now in TWRP, swipe right to allow modification.
13 Select wipe.
14 Select format.
15 Type yes.
16 Go back to main menu and select reboot menu.
17 Select REBOOT RECOVERY, do not go to system.
18 When back in TWRP after rebooting recovery select wipe at main menu.
19 Do a factory reset.(= Wipe data, cache, and dalvik)
20 Go back to main menu.
21 Select install.
22. Flash the verity and encryption disabler.
23. Go back to main men.
24. Select wipe.
25 Do a factory reset.(= Wipe data, cache, and dalvik)
26 Go back to main menu.
27 Select install.
28 Choose either magisk or SU to flash and install it.
29 Go back to main menu
30 Select wipe
31 Do a factory reset.
32 At main menu select install and flash your rom IF IT DOES NOT include any lower level flash for the BL, CP etc.
33 Go back to main menu
34 Select wipe.
35 Factory reset. (= Wipe data, cache, and dalvik)
36 Reboot into system. You should be able to connect your wireless network and go through the setup process. Do not reboot until you have completed setup, enabled developer options, verified that you have an OEM unlock switch and that it is on. If it is on you should be able to reboot, go into recovery, etc. You should not flash a CSC, kernal, anything that alters the lower level firmware.

It seems like more and more cscs are added to have the 7 days waiting period. One csc which works till now (even on BQK6 csc) is the AUT csc. Works from day zero (OEM unlock is always there)

Someone just needs to find a way to decrypt those csc files to check which line is related to this...

So in regards to editing the cscfeature.xml to bring back caller id spam protection and other features missing when choosing DBT unbranded (TMB isn't an option in csc list so), i get garbled text and my ability to edit it is sabotaged, @Tkkg1994 plz include the option for "keep your csc" or re-enable these missing features. Thanks

I did a look in the manual and it should be available on stock Note8 camera.
The photoseries does not work for me, when I press and hold the shutter button.

I don't get point 10 and 11 nor why you wanna wipe and format so many times.

For point 10 if you're already in download mode then why do point 10 again ?
I didn't do that I just went to download mode and flashed then rebooted into recovery and did the reset then flashed the disabled then wiped and flashed a custom Rom.

OEM is a slap in the face. I can't say much about OEM as I got my phone from Sammy.
As I understand it only people that got their phones from a SIM provider are suffering.

Seems like someone wants to turn android into Apple type of restriction I see it slowly being introduced in each version.

My list goes on but no time to type any more.

Quick question, after restore of google and samsung backup, some apps do not appear in apps list. However if i search in the apps it finds them. E.g. viber, whatsapp. Any suggestion how to fix that?

The problem is as soon as you do a factory reset the timer is reset and your bootloader gets locked after the first boot. And if you reboot again within the 7 days and you don't unlock it again you'll run into the unverified binaries issue and get stuck in boot loop. And it's not a good idea to do a dirty flash when coming from another ROM (crashes etc)

Hey mate i really love your Roms you release. I got my N950F XSA (Australia Unbranded) Note 8 and waited the 7 days for OEM Unlock to show. I then immediately Flashed TWRP & Renovate Rom and it was going great with no Binary issues for over 2 weeks. I then decided to flash your Rom with the modded settings aswell & flashed your CSCUtility for Note 8 and phone booted successfully after installation. Went through the whole phone setup etc. Installed all my apps back. I then ran enabled Adaway end rebooted the phone. Then the dreaded 'Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed' message. I then had no other choice but to flash back to stock Rom with Odin and am now in the 7-day jail period. I don't know what went wrong.

Also wandering if anyone else has OEM Lock=Off in download mode but doesn't show up in Dev options?

I am in the exact same boat as you. used Renovate since release day to today, i flashed iron rom, booted fine ands et up, then rebooted and got the red error message. now i just flashed stock how did you go ?

which one did you flash? the most current one I've uploaded is 7c, I have not tried it on top of an F-based ROM, but it doesn't overwrite the IMS Settings app, and the epdg stuff is all from an N950F in the first place so that shouldn't have any impact at all on a 950F-based ROM.

You might want to try clearing cache and dalvik cache, but I can't think off the top of my head why it would give any FC to those at all.

yeah i flashed 7c, i wiped cache and dalvik same result, so i wiped from scratch reflashed rom and t-mo csc without even setting anything up and fc upon boot of the same -

Seeing the OEM unlock and checking if its active or not would be better to avoid problems IMO

What should we do Tkkg for skipping this jail...
Please make rom like reno for hassle free jail free installation...

That's not garbled, it's encrypted and there we start getting problems of editing the csc files... As I stated in previous posts we need to find a way to properly decrypt the csc!

I can only repeat myself. The stock camera app IS fully stock and it doesn't feature the burst mode. However it has been brought back by modded camera via zeroprobe mod!

Normally on the right side we already have the samsung stock network indicator that's why I'd like to keep the custom one left. Also double tap to statusbar is included, navbar not planned

Since the other rom (renovate) uses the s8 cscfeatures files it also won't have the oem unlock thing to prevent you from rebooting.

I'll try to summarize why it does end up on binary issue after a clean installation. This is important to understand!!

After a fresh installation, your device is like a brandnew device. OEM unlock will be turned off via the csc (depending on which one you are using) while booting your phone. That means after clean installing this device with any rom using full n8 csc files you need to wait 7 days for the OEM unlock to reappear. What does this mean for you?
Since you already installed a custom rom, your device is now of course being tripped (using a custom binary) and can't be rebooted until the switch appears. That will be the same thing on each new installation (clean install) of your device! Means a data wipe = again wait 7 days
