Hi Folks. How is everyone doing? I'm so sorry for the delay in doing this post about getting Insurance on your device. I've just been busy like crazy. Hope everyone had a wonderful turkey day as well
So here is the Rundown about this insurance program.
Esecuritel is the name of the Insurance program, for starters its not another form of Verizon Corporate Insurance like Asurion. This insurance program I guess you can call it a Privatize insurance program. Some stores carry it and some don't however in some events your local store may carry a similar type of insurance program to Esecuritel just underneath a different name.
Major Benefits:
1. You get a Brand New Device...NO REFURBISH DEVICE.
2. They do offer Open Enrollment...So that means if you currently have Asurion and your local stores offer Esecuritel you can cancel your Asurion insurance and switch to Esecuritel.
3. If something happens to your device you can get a Brand New device Same Day. And if your local store for some reason happens to not have your current store in Inventory then Esecuritel can redirect you to another local store that may have your current device in stock. And if for some reason none of your local store have that phone then Esecuritel can mail you a Brand New Device to your door. Not too mention they also ship out your new device to you very fast. A lot faster than Asurion.
4. Esecuritel does cover any damage that may happen to your device, Water Damage, Crack Screen and etc. And they also cover Lost and Theft. BY THE WAY you only get to File 2 Claims per year so guys please try to save the claims for extreme situations Don't just go file a claim because you Nicked your device because Normal Wear, Pre-existing damage or malfunction, and cosmetic damage to your mobile device or phone are not covered. Also for insurance on your Galaxy Note 3 device your MSRP is 10.99 and your Deductible is 169. Now some of you may complain that is expensive but the fact that you will be getting a NEW NOTE 3 for $169 is a very timeless deal. Sure beats buying another one out right.
Q & A
Can I pay more or less to get a different device?
No unfortunately not. Now lets say the Note 4 comes out and samsung no longer offers the Note 3 for purchase or sale anymore then what happens? You will get the Note 4. Now another example. Lets say you owned the original iPhone 5 and you have Esecuritel on your iPhone 5 but Apple no longer offer production on the Original Metal iPhone 5...Right? What will happen when you file a claim on that Original iPhone 5 Device is that they will give you the New iPhone 5c if Esecuritel no longer has any more inventory left of the Original iPhone 5. Keep in mind that this is not a way for you to cheat the system and upgrade to a newer and better device.
Getting another device than the one you filed the claim for?
So lets say that you go to file a claim and none of your stores don't have your current device and you don't want to wait for a phone to be sent to you. Depending on the Manager or Supervisor at your local verizon store they can approve a Manager override so you can get a different device.
Example: You have a Motorola Razr XT926 and you break your device. Since the XT926 is no longer in production You can get the new Motorola Droid Ultra. Now lets say you don't like the Ultra right? The manager or supervisor of your local store can see what phones are in that same Tier as your device and offer you a total different Device. So to continue...you don't like the Droid Ultra which is what would be the new device supposed to be issued for those filing a claim on the XT926 you can ask to see what device is in your Device tier. Now the eligible device within your Tier for your XT926 would be like a Samsung Galaxy S3 and other devices as such. So lets say that the manager or supervisor at that store does decide to the override for you right? Now if you do the override and decide to get another device than your original one you will be expected to a equal, higher or lower deductible and MSRP if the new device has a different Deductible and MSRP attached to it.
Hope you all understand. Now if your not following me then this is what I mean. Lets use the iPhone 5 for example. The original iPhone 5 MSRP with Esecuritel is $10.99 and a deductible of $169 right? Now since the Original iPhone 5 is no longer in Production you will get the New iPhone 5c. Since that is the next latest device within the apple line up. And because the MSRP and Deductible is different on the 5c that means when you go to fulfill your claim your deductible will be a different price. The current deductible on the 5c is $129 and has a MSRP of 6.99 a month. So instead of paying 169 to get your new device you will pay $129 to get your new IDevice. And after getting your new device you will no longer be paying 10.99 a month for your Esecuritel Insurance coverage. You will be paying 6.99 instead of 10.99.
How do you know how much your MSRP and Deductible is on any of your Current Device?
Simple...Its all based on the Retail Price of your Device.
See the Picture attached to this thread to find out how much your MSRP and Deductible is for any of your current Devices.
