I was looking through the firmware for the phone and found the configuration for all the CA combos. Posting this in case it helps people looking to see if they will get maximum throughput from their device. This was from firmware OPM1.170911.254.

Also, Essential does not advertise all LTE bands. In reality, it supports some extra ones as well. Full list is: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/11/12/13/17/18/19/20/21/25/26/28/29/30/32/38/39/40/41/42/43/66

I want to ask why this CA list didn't listed 4CA combination?
Because this is the only phone that I can't found in global market that support B42 for NTT docomo, I'm going to choose a phone to be my WiFi hotspot in Japan.

Thanks for your reply.

Not every 835 based phone supports 4CA.
4CA requires extra RF FE hardware (amplifiers + antenna), so some manufacturers decided to save on BOM and stick with 3CA.

This phone has 835 in it.
So the phone supports Cat.16 4CA, but I didn't see any combined 4 different / same bands to get it.

Because I saw gsmarena website says that PH-1 support 4CA Cat.16, maybe I will check further.

gsmarea does not have correct info. I have Essential and i confirm this is CAT12 (3CA) with 256QAM/64QAM support.
