Yes.. there is one modded BCG that works fine..

Can you tell me the version number / name or maybe a link?
Is it one of the older gcam versions which aren´t quite as good as the newer ones?
Newer gcam is essential for me as there is an impressive gain in picture quality compared to stock camera app.
Any chance to use newer versions?

I don't know..My phone on daily use is always cold.. Check your apps... close the always open data 4G...
Check parameters...
