I just got off the line with t-mo. I'm a Even more plus customer (no contract, cheaper plans) and you CAN NOT go to an Even more plan with a contract from an Even More Plus plan. You have to cancel your account first and loose your number. Then you can get a discounted N1. Too bad google won't let t-mo sell the nexus one so that way you can get on that no interest phone payment plan.

edit: title should say Even More Plus...

well if you think about it, even though they designed this to make it seem like you're saving money with the "discounted" phone, after 24 months of a contract that costs you an extra $20 a month, it ends up costing $179 + (24 * $20) = $659, which is an extra $120. i bought the unlocked version, but i guess not everyone has the money to do that.

Try and do the option to add a line to you account and see if that works. If it does just go ahead and activate the new account with the contract. Once you get the phone call tmobile and cancel you're old account and tell them to put in a "request old number" request. This will pull your old phone number and replace the new one you got on the new account. Everything ends up being the same minus the contract.

uff uff...
I got mine unlocked ($530) and since I've been with T-Mobile for about 8 years I was on the original unlimited-everything t-mo offered. I have unlimited family plan and I pay only $250 a month for four lines with unlimited callling, data, and text.
I luv the t-mos

I just switch to Even More Plus last week and used my AAA membership to get the $35 activation fee waived. When I did the switch-over, the rep. read from a script that said that I could never go back. If you didn't get this script, that would be T-Mobile's fault; but if you did and you weren't paying attention, that's your own damn fault.

Buyer beware.

Anyway, I wouldn't exactly call getting $480 less service charges over two years "getting screwed."
