In the German Forum "PocketPC " came the desire for a "Tamagotchi" App.

A colleague and I have therefore decided to develop Windows Mobile for this app.
We are still very inexperienced with XNA and will therefore develop V1.0 with visual studio and Blend.

V1.0 is almost done and we hope to present you this App in the next weeks.

The good news:
We are offering this app for free as long as incurred no costs for us. (servers, Web services and so on)
In addition, the app will be free of advertising.

We hope that international interest is as great as in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and we would appreciate it if we get help in developing, in case we need them.

Here are two screenshots which give you a sneak preview.

In the next few days I'll post another photo that shows more of the app itself.

Here is the link for all who speak german and want to learn more about the app:
http://www.pocketpc.ch/windows-phone-7-apps/125073-tamagotchiaehnliche-app.html

The Tamagotchi is called "Evo7". The short version of "evolution".
So the evo will grow up. At the first start the evo inside an egg and over the time it's breaking out of the egg. ;-)

v1.0 will give the option to choose only between the color of the evo.
More characters will be add in the next version.

So far: Stay tuned. ;-)

Greetings from Germany,

I would love a tamagachi app. I hope theres an option to switch between extremely needy(like live tile needy) and just normally. (When the app is open)

That's a bit confusing isn't it? >_>
I do want it though.

info:

version 1.0 is submitted to the marketplace (first Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

We'll need some days to translate the app to english.

Stay tuned. ;-)

Great to see you're releasing it for free (and also without annoying ads)
But still I would like to see more screenshots :)
I would wait for the new toolkit before you start developing an onlinemode, as it contains socket-apis, which will make things much easier ;)

Sincerly,
DeathLamp

BTW: So it's developed without XNA isn't it?

Yes, it's developed without XNA, because we have no experience with XNA.
But we're working on that and maybe v2.0 will be developed with XNA. ;-)

Also we're waiting for the new toolkit. More information about the online-stuff later. More screenshots, too. ;-)
