EVR-AL00 root situation

A quick look by two different apps (Getting an update to one of them for final comparison) shows that either both the Recovery_Vendor.img and Recovery_ramdisk.img are complete different based on comparison, or because one is a internal rooted rom (AL00) and the L29 isnt, could be why there is such a massive difference in coding. Basically the whole file is different in both, My whole screen is red except the last 3 hex lines. But checking to see if updating the app makes a difference (probably not).
Yes the dev rom is maybe not a good one to compare with (but is all that is available ATM with the L00)...On Lenovo Tab 8704x (Android 7.1) I had one dev firmware based on Marshmallow that was spartan (no pulldown quick settings either and screen was on all the time-lot of other things to test the device though with) I used it as a way of restoring the device to stock after it got messed up with a TWRP restore that did not work. So yes, it appears this might be one of those factory raw firmwares that are very different from commercial stock.

Ok first @fatouraee thank you for the rom, and the heads up.

Now this rom makes more sense for comparing, on a quick compare now I can see at least which files are different. So the first shot is all the files in the rom, second is the files that are different, just to give an idea, Will be looking through this tonight and see what I can find.

This doesnt include the Preload and Cust img's in the L29.

Great...every img opens with no issues except this system img file from L29.

Well digging through the Product.img file there seems to be two things I found interesting. The first there is another model # "EVR-L09" which doing a search isnt coming up with anything on google. The other is there seems to be a apk to enroll OKGoogle as the hot word, which I think is the obvious, but when I pulled the apk to try and install it, it comes back that the apk does not have a certificate.
I think EVR-L09 is the either now cancelled or delayed into next year (probably cancelled) EU variant.

so converting is not gonna be possible right?
Dont know that, theoretically it should be possible based on the few locations being different and thats because of global and chinese, but the system isnt just based on the system.img, thats just part of it, you still have other factors, one of the key factors is the ID in the OS that determines L29 or AL00 and the hardware ID's in each of the 3 phones, since my belief and I think someone already confirmed this is that the rom is tied to the phone id, so we have to find either the lines of code to change the id to have the l29 install/work on al00, or if like HTC had, and admin id where changing the Phone ID to 0000 made it a universal admin phone and it didnt matter what region rom you used. Now does Huawei have such a code? Don't know, that is beyond the scope of my abilities.

But this is where the bootloader, recovery, and ramdisk has to be looked at, because there are differences in each of them in a quick comparisons of each file

But I hardly believe dat they making phones with different hardware in the phone ... all is the same just software different ... or?
by software they will enable/ disable / install specific region needs
It shouldn't matter of hardware.. I think .. like u install windows 10 on any laptop .. and software will just tie up with HW
Again rememeber hardware ID isnt the same. When I say hardware ID we dont know what they attach to, like for example you have mac addresses, each hardware has a unique ID well if those ID's are serial for example, they know which are for global region and which are china region, and they set the software to identify what region it is in so the script knows if it can be installed or not, so yes its software based, but the software is based on a script retrieving information from the phone. You bring up windows 10, great example, there are different versions based on regions, for example there was a big issue with internet explorer and windows media player years back, and MS was ordered to remove these from installation of windows, it was done based on region, & cd key, and hardware ID, another example is how windows knows to install windows normal or media edition, hardware and key.

Looking at the system img this OS handles 3-4 different phones and how to install, what do you think the rom is looking for before install to know what to install?

Guys, this thread is for ROOT if I'm not mistaken....
Please discuss the DT2W in another thread! It is not nice when you see new replies to a thread that you eagerly follow and upon opening it you find all of them completely off-topic...
lol...things were quiet for 6 days (many other threads too related to bootloader etc) so I posted just as a side comment...

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78287259&postcount=36

Maybe it brought some life back here...oh well go back to dormant...dtw is related to root but understand it is not fundamental to root...anyway traffic rules....tsk tsk :)

Everything is clear with bootloader. You can easily unlock it in china version.

But root is another thing and the only hope is on some genious developers who will find the way to make twrp and root for our device.

Thread cleaned
Although I completely agree that those posts have brought this thread to life, also like a few Off Topic ones.
At times a little amount of controlled Off Topic posts bring a bit of spice and some lost spark back to the thread.
The Thread might spring into life instantly.

It also depends on the Dev who is the Owner of the thread to decide he wants OT or not.

As a rule, I am deleting few posts as they were not connected directly to the sole objective of this Thread.

Stay on TOPIC please.

Thanks

I had already reported it in myself to the moderator (my own violation...hopefully it satisfies all the complaints)...thanks
