So basically what I have done is I simply flashed open gapps pico package around 40mb in size from TWRP on stock rom 5.1 of Moto g3.
The results are as you can guess all the google apps that came preinstalled in the device were removed now you can see only core apps needed for playstore functionality. It removed Google app and Google now launcher too so before flashing you should install any third party launcher and integrate it in system too(optional).
It improved performance and battery life a bit and let me get rid of unwanted Google apps and the needed apps I have downloaded them from playstore.
So try it take a backup before hand if you wanna revert back(why will you do that.)

The Google Applications packages should be installed via recovery. Exact steps vary, but the general process is the same as that used to install CyanogenMod, or any other flashable zip.
