I did some quick and dirty tests, and h264 seems to be better than m4v. On the other hand, I tried to do a quick clip while skiing saturday, and with 8mpbs the audio just went blank (not sure whether this is related).
wow, you mean. the clip was audio-less but in 720p??? could you upload this vid? i'm very interested in seeing the quality.
is it possible to get/add more libs/codecs to the defy, that it can play avi,mpg or wmv in hardware ?

The fullscreen video camera works fine but i lost the flash recording. I´m in a Froyo Orange Deblurred.

cool. but isn't this again proof for the use of a 3630 instead of a 3610. because why should the 3610's dsp (if it had one in the first place) be able to en-/decode 720p-mp4s? i really look forward to your results. great work!

edit: i put them into system/lib?( for zip file on #1 ), stock Camera isn't recording in fullscreen 854x480, but 720P works great on stock palyer, but V palyer don't work! awesome 720p!
edit: .zip didn't work for Chinese ME525（CN DEFY）, the brightness keeps highest, the four keys won't light, no apn, no fullscreen recording.
about phone info changes a lot.

I only restarted mobile phone.
I can see Video Modes, Panorama, flash works during records.
