Due to it's excellent Audio DAC and having a proper Headphone socket, I use this phone entirely as a HIFI media player. 128GB SD card with FLACs. Onkyo HD Player for playing.
If you want more volume steps (if ROM doesn't have it) you need to edit the build.prop (upto 9) or default.prop (10).

At the end of:
ro.config.media_vol_steps=xx
xx = your number of steps, I find 60-75 ideal for fine volume control.
BTW, it doesn't work on Sense ROMs, you end up with 2 lots of volumes! 1 with the original 15 steps and 1 with your chosen number of steps.
