I have to agree on something is chewing at the battery. I can shut off everything and still seem to discharge at an overwhelming rate. For the life of me I can't see what it is. I figure an update may address this and the video recording issue. But I may wind up getting the bigger battery to get by for now.

If anything else, if users are having issued with the VZ issued Extended Battery, make sure you let the battery fully empty and then fully charge again for about 8 hours. You have to let the battery get a "workout".

Hopefully some battery performance can be improved once we get the 2.3 Gingerbread Upgrade in Q2. Coming from a Nexus S, the battery life was so much better in 2.3 and the way Gingerbread handled running apps was like day and night; much much better (no need of any task manager)

I did not make any calls, I did not use the web, I received a few text messages only. (yes, wifi and all other service were off) I received a text message at 4:32pm but did not touch my phone until 5:30pm to read it. The phone was on mute, with no vibrate alert, just the led flash for notification.

It appears to me, that having an un-acknowledged text, missed call, email, vm, etc, for some reason eats the battery.
Perhaps you should turn off LED notification and re-test. I can't imagine the LED eating up that kind of juice, but it's the first thing I'd look at if you're sure nothing else was running sucking it up.

Have you installed Spare Parts and/or System Panel? Both give lots of good information on what's using up your battery.

Maybe a finalized CM7 will get us there sooner.

Agreed on Nexus S amazing battery life, and also about getting a full deep cycle on the battery a few times before complaining about it not giving enough juice. I know it's not probable, but I swear I'm getting more than double the amount of hours out of this thing than a single standard battery gives; maybe not a huge amount, but a bit.
