Bought an external storage device (Samsung T5 SDD). It does not detect on my OnePlus 6. I can plug it into my OnePlus 6T and laptop though and it works fine. Is there some sort of hardware or software issue between the 6 and the 6T that allows my 6T to see it but not the 6?

Both OnePlus phones are on stock ROM and rooted.

I've just got a quick question for you, what speeds do you achieve on an SSD via otg? I'm wondering if I should get a flash drive for otg or an SSD
It's hit and miss to be honest. Not as fast as plugging into my PC.

OnePlus I believe is USB 2.0 so can't get much past 30MByte/sec. I can get 10x that over USB-C on my PC.

It's a Samsung T5 1TB SSD.

My phone wasn't OTG enabled, and I couldn't connect it as well. As soon as I turned on the OTG settings everything worked perfectly fine. However, I read multiple wd elements vs easystore reviews online, and I decided to upgrade and get the wd easystore because it offers dedicated software. I'm a Mac user, so this should be great for me, even though they say it's possible to make it work with windows as well. I found it on Amazon for about $156, and I think it's not that much. What do you guys think about it?
