Extremely slow camera start

The whole reason for me to get a droid x2 is the for the camera. It sounds nice on the paper, but it takes a whole 3 seconds to start the camera. I mean, click the icon, count "1 Mississippi, ... ", sometimes even longer, like 5-8 seconds. My wife's DINC2 takes only a second to open the camera app.

I am still running stock rom, CM7 did not work well on my unit either. So, is there any other cure to this issue?

I always had this issue with my camera so I am sorry that I can't offer any guidance here...I was unsatisfied with the camera as a whole maybe try HDR or Pudding camera they are way better alternatives to the stock camera anyway, in my opinion

Maybe try the sd speed increase app from the app store? Might help. Just a thought...

Out of the box, my camera wasn't all that fast either. But on my X2 with CM7, the camera is almost instant. It's a world's difference. Even taking pics or switching from the album and back to the camera is no problem at all. I do have the SD Speed increase to 2048, but that's all. Not extra scripts or anything else other than CM7.

Clear out everything, flash back CM7 beta and download the SD speed increase. It's gotta be better than where you are at now.
