What is the highest (CPUCL0/1/2 or G3d) bin you have?

I'm mad and I'm in need of psychiatric assistance! I've got 3 exynos models.

I'm seeing that the higher the number, the less voltage stated. 🤔

But one of the exynos phones constantly does better than the others in benchmarks scores ran back to back, and uses less power, only about 2 percent better, but its consistent. And said phone has bin numbers of 2,2,2,1 I think it was, and it states higher voltage. So as op said, there must be many other factors to take into account like power draw from screen, modems etc..

Sigh 😔 seems like the chipset as a whole is what's important and a difference of one or two digits regarding cpu and gpu bin numbers don't mean much.

I also have a snapdragon, I know, I'm sick, and that's better than all my exynos phones for power and efficiency. Can't find it's bin info though

    Binning is just a QA on the wafers of a silicon chip. Making it is expensive so throwing away those with little imperfections would increase the manufacturing costs. Zo what they do is compromise with those less than perfect chips and increase the voltage to mitigate the imperfections. Performance wise higher voltage will always be better than lower voltage. However lower voltage results in lower but stable performance since it would result to less heat. But the bin numbers are just estimates. Sometimes a bin 2 chip is capable of being a bin 3 which in result outperforming other bin 3 chips since it has higher voltage but lesser defects.

    what are these supposed to mean? i had horrible battery life at the beginning since i got my phone too early on Jan 22nd and my variant is S21 ULTRA 512GB/16GB ( I also made a post about it) but after some optimizations and different updates and monitoring it for couple of weeks now its perfect and it doesn't overheat much except when I put it in immense pressure.

    so what are these numbers ? is it good or bad?

    Average. But don't worry. If you are happy with battery life and heat then it's perfect :)

    Average is the last thing i wanted to hear for my expensive piece of metal and glass lol

    so what makes it average? and is this hardware limited ?

    my benchmarks are not the best and can't get the top 1% of 3d mark in s21 ultra section, i charge my battery from 20 to 85% and i get ~5-6 hrs of SOT in those 65% of battery usage.

    using single take in Camera warms up the phone tho...

    but don't have any problems with screen colors or any sound quality issues!

      Hi All,

      Have seen some conversations around chip bins and device performance, interested to see if people are seeing any real life differences between the bins.

      You can get a text dump of the kernel log by going to your dialpad *#9900# - "copy to sdcard(include CP RamDump)"

      Grab log folder from internal storage, go to recovery folder, 'last_kmsg' (you can search for the recovery folder, it is usually hidden).

      This is then followed in the logs by voltage tables (how many volts are required at each processor frequency).

      little cpu group = CPUCL0
      mid cpu group = CPUCL1
      big cpu group = CPUCL2
      GPU = g3d

      In my case I have 2;2;2;1 (same as Anandtech).

      Would be appreciated if people could fill out the table below and respond to the poll to get an idea of what the binning translates to in real life!

      My S21U Exonys India have CL0/CL1/CL2/GPU : 3/3/3/1 Binning.
      I haven't benchmarked but here are the max frequency and voltage result.
      CL0 : 0.925v for max (2.21Ghz)
      CL1 : 1.0V for max (2.81Ghz)
      CL2 : 1.03v for max (2.91Ghz)
      G3D : 0.718v for Max (0.858Ghz)
      SOT : 7-730hrs
      No overheating.

      Unsure about voltages.
