I don’t know if you noticed that, on LOS 16.0, I used Magisk 19.3, and it worked well, Magisk 20.x always gave some problems, on LOS 17.1, Magisk 19.3 didn’t work, 20.x was a problem, however, Magisk 22.0 finally fixed all the problems for me, works perfectly on both LOS 16.0 and LOS 17.1

it is not enough to just use Magisk hide, some apps require extra configuration, I also faced this. you can test the following:

Uninstall the app, open the Magisk, hide the Magisk from the system in the settings, install the app, select the apps you want to hide, before opening the app the first time, force the stop, clear the cache and clean the storage, then you starts the app.

Many applications, mainly banks, can see root even if you check to hide and block access, requiring a 100% certified android phone. Doing this the app starts to see the phone as vanilla, without modifications, this is usually the most radical attempt to hide the root of the apps, it worked for me, since my bank apps also only worked by doing what I said

Any cell phone that has removed the original system, loses the '' original certificate '', its '' identity '', so to speak, even without Magisk, it will not be seen as vanilla, Magisk is used for both cases, to control root in apps, but also to hide root in others, every phone that has been modified, it is mandatory to have Magisk if you want it to work 100% like the original system

thanks alot , it worked, in magisk i did hide from bank app, android accessibility suite ,carrier services ,google go , google play services, then tried and bankng app started without problem , previously i only hid Google play services and bank app, which caused the bankingapp doesn't start, but now I also hid a few other android and google apps, and it worked.

Привет всем. После звонка звук идет из динамика вместе с наушниками, можно как-то исправить. Спасибо.

Translation: Hello everybody. After the call, the sound comes out of the speaker along with the headphones, you can somehow fix it. Thank you.

Hello good people, i'm new to all this stuff... i have note 4 910c version and i installed in this order lineage-17.1-20210304-UNOFFICIAL-treltexx.zip, open_gapps-arm-10.0-pico-20210507.zip and Magisk-v22.1.zip
problem is most of VR (virtual reallity) apps (google carboard, fulldive VR...) does not detect any of my head movement... view is stuck in one position... any help? i tried "Sensor test" app and sensors seems all works fine in there (accelerometer, gyroscope,compass...)

Edit soo far i notice: when i turn mobile data LTE (H+) only works for 20-30 seconds then it switch to Edge (slow internet), music player does not have search (or am blind), samsung gear vr not included (not working only detects like mouse when i connect phone to gear), s pen same act like mouse, when i go to fingerprint to set up phone restarts (i dont really need but i tested), video camera recording not working in default camera app... and there is no 4k setting... max is fhd.

About the Gear VR settings, I can't answer, because I never used it, maybe it must be because Android is pure, without Samsung's modifications.
About LTE, many had problems and solved it by formatting the phone again.
Video recording operation in the main app has never worked due to the implementation of samsng being proprietary and this will be very difficult to implement in Lineage, the immediate solution is to use the Footej Camera app, the only one that records videos for the time being.
Because it uses software and not hardware, the Footej app also records only up to FHD. Future updates will try to fix all of these problems

A future correction would be to improve the audio drivers, On my phone, I did not have any problems of leakage of bluetooth audio to the speaker, but the sound problem still gives a loud burst as soon as it puts some audio for thousands of seconds, both by the wired headset, as by bluetooth. In LOS 16, this occurred very rarely, and the burst was much lower

i don't care about official samsung gear vr apps anymore i heard facebook destroyed it for old devices, but why vr apps from google store don't detect any of my movements while on stock rom works normally and i tried lieange os 16 last night its the same for example when you launch cardboard app view its stuck in one postion, while lineage os 16 on my samsung galaxy S4 same google vr apps works normally tracking every movement...

Hello everyone, I did a battery of tests with LOS 17.1, I think it is important to write also, besides what doesn't work, also write what works too, since it helps Ananjaser to have a better priority in the roms and thus save time. I did a new format, with gapps pico and magisk 22, to get a better idea of how previous bugs behave, and to notice what is stable, that is, the same thing in this format and the old one. Remembering that my phone is N910C.

*About Audio, testing with the same common earphone, and bluetooth earphone, I had a different behavior, in the previous format, there were still some audio bursts when I started some audio in both headphones, either on youtube, spotify or call, in the second format, those pops disappeared unbelievably, and I even forced the system, pausing a song directly and alternating repeatedly, there was no overflow. Only the configuration of the AudioFX is lost, however, another pause returns.

*About the reboots, in the first formatting, I did not experience this fact, however in the current formatting, it only restarts when it is below 20% and even then, only when it is in use, it stopped does not reboot, there were some people who reported that they were restarting independently of the battery percentage, mine only occurred on low battery (in energy saving mode).

*Mobile data works correctly, both on 3G and LTE, without any problem, behaving like any smartphone, I had no problems with app calls, both with or without bluetooth.

*The phone heats up a little more than in LOS 16 (Andorid 9), however, little, and the battery consumption is a little higher, which is expected, the performance is improved in LOS 17.1 due to kernel optimizations, it is more responsive. I experimented with games, videos and calls, I felt that the phone was faster in general tasks.

I had no major problems in relation to LOS 16, comparing to previous builds of LOS 17.1, this is the best without a doubt, for those who used the last build of LOS 16.0, I think you can now switch to 17.1, since the biggest serious problems have already been resolved for basic use, I think we are getting close to the stable version. As anan is busy, being the last visit to the forum on April 21, and this build is more than 2 months old, if he is not sick, or something serious, if he comes back, we will have great news in the builds.

I also got to test the builds of the user '' ripee '', he usually takes a stable build and makes his own updates, besides doing a preview of Havoc OS and Ressurection Remix based on the LineageOs ROMs that anan does, for whoever wants the link, is here, has for almost all
Samsung models. Without forgetting to mention that they are test ROMs, that is, no guarantee of stable operation, test at your own risk, although nothing else are modified versions of those that already existed here.

I tested the LineageOS 17.1 version (04.15.2021) and the RR version (05.01.2021), in the treltexx version (N910C), and both are practically the same as the ananjaser version, however the chip was not detected in either ROM apart from that, the behavior is practically the same, indicating that we are getting closer and closer to total stability.

I have a question. I have a 910c.
The screen mirroring, with a Mirascreen, does not work.
It is connected to a smartv, Samsung which does not have Mirroring.
The mirascreen device is connected to the TV with HDMI and Usb.
With the stock rom it worked.
I reset the Mirascreen device, I detect with the cell phone the mirascreen network to configure it. I configure it correctly.
I press the connection icon in the rom, and it stays there. It does not detect anything.
Mirascreen works correctly, it detects the connection between the cell phone and it, between the Mirascreen and the modem.
I install Samsung View, and it doesn't connect either.
Is there any solution?

Thx

If you want extreme stability, use it for basic purposes, or cannot format it, I recommend LineageOS 16.0 (11/01/2020), it is the last stable build with Android 9, it works very well, and despite being an older android , it perfectly supports all bank apps.
If you want the latest version of android, want the latest news, and are willing to format your phone with each new build, I recommend the latest version of LineageOS 17.1, already has Android 10, which is still super current, in addition to having several improvements in relation to LOS 16, how to be faster in general, in addition to some old bugs to be improved, in addition to being updated whenever possible by anan here on the topic.
In both roms, you can find some bugs, both have the problem of not being able to shoot with the standard camera app, having to use the excellent Footej (HDR function active in LOS 17.1), the audio is better in LOS 17.1 in what refers to bluetooth headphones, also in 17.1, the phone works faster and more fluidly, due to a kernel alternation that did not exist in previous versions , more functions to customize, in short, you decide which is the best use.
I recommend using LOS 16.0 if it is your only cell phone and you do not have much time or patience in case a bug appears, if you want new functions and enjoy all the speed of the phone, go to LOS 17.1
Hi, sounds good. Would you happen to know off the top of your head where I can find the latest stable build of 16?

LineageOS 17.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910C/H/U/S/L/K | N915S/L/K | N916S/L/K)

--> Personal Notes <--
20210308 Update : I have released N910U builds with full sim support, they are available in the download section Sim calls / Data and SMS were all tested. it should be at the same level of bugs as other models now

20210305 Release notes :
Alright i finally have time to release the next set of builds, i have done alot of work again on Audio to make it more stable.
and other fixes overall for modem / sim. i have used it for the past 3 days with my sim in it, and its alright.
i have also made a magisk module which you need to flash if you want high quality instagram (and other apps) video playback. all info in F.A.Q

I still have no idea how N910H will perform, so let me know if it works or not. if sim is buggy, try to manually force 3G APNs
N910U Now can show baseband info but still will not load or detect simcards. so no progress there.

We are down to few bugs, i am going to try to tackle some boring tasks in the next releases, like selinux and encryption, i am hoping to get us enforced soon, and maybe encrypted. after that i will probably re-do all our device trees. in case we ever get all the bugs resolved, we might apply to lineage official

Big thanks to @Fuadmoin and @ISoreo for a ton of help with testing various Audio fixes

old release notes

2/17/2021
This batch of releases should hopefully address the random reboots and sim issues faced by many, i have also did entire audio from scratch, which would be fun to experiment on, i could not test it fully so i am going to expect that some calling scenarios might not work, would love to know about them.

i would like to also mention that the power management in this build has been re-done and settings > battery > profiles actually do use custom tunable similar to stock ROM, you may override the frequency i set for CPUs via HKTweaks but i personally think its better for over all stability and battery life

i should also mention that performance in general is miles better than both 16 and 17.1 builds of the past, as i found a big flaw in the kernel

over-all these set of builds carry a ton of improvements and fixes, and many missing commits that we should have had ages ago.

Enjoy and do let me know how it goes, to report any issues, follow the guide below on how to capture useful logs

2020 NOV
Alright everyone, so i have taken the stable state of our lineage 16.0 trees and decided to just go for 17.1, i have basically observed the same bugs (wifi thing on idle, no video recording in default cam app and encryption) so figured it was worth it to just spend the extra time to upbring 17.1, i have noticed a ton of improvements myself, i dropped certain hacks, and repaired a bunch of stuff in the tree, and fixed some critical 16.0 bugs related to GPS, Wifi and a ton others. I hope you enjoy this release, and please let me know how it goes, i am basically down to 2 or 3 testers at this point as everyone i knew already left this device, and i personally suck at testing, i loaded my phone with gapps micro, nova prime launcher and my general social apps / debugging tools. and so far its solid, There are some additional notes make sure to read below regarding registering fingerprint, as it gets stuck but actually takes in the FP information.

regarding continuing 16 builds, i dont know honestly, the build server i use is already crowded and building for 5 devices is too much to handle, last 16 build might be the last for a while.

Hope you enjoy this release!

Also BIG WARNING : Dualbootpatcher is no longer a thing with 17.1, it wont work ,dont ask me for support. the tool is deprecated

Lineage 16 release notes :-

Alright, it took a lot of work and effort, but finally our device is running Android Pie in a state that is considered "usable" by myself and the testers. There is still a lot of room for improvement but for now the current C/H build is good enough. S/L/K and U builds will follow later after the C/H one is tested, and while i get myself a server.

This project is only possible due to the awesome people who helped me get my foot into AOSP development, which is very different from what I'm used to. In no particular order, our thanks to @Lunarixus , @ripee , @Stricted (especially for commits that fixed RIL) @tripLr , @bonuzzz and many others from various communities who helped indirectly by sharing their device trees on GitHub.

I will continue to work on Lineage 16.0 and hopefully Lineage 17.0 in the future. I am enjoying AOSP more than TW at the moment.
Expect other flavors of AOSP Pie to come out. I was going to release Havoc but it seems to have a problem with incall UI when you install gapps, so I'm skipping it for now.

If you appreciate the effort behind this, don't hesitate to leave a thanks, provide constructive criticism and maybe consider donating some "totally not illegal stuff" over at my paypal

TWRP (official builds also exist, i will update my builds later)

Hi. I'll just add this as a warning. After I started using this rom (the latest version), Whatsapp banned my phone number for breaching its terms of usage. I have done absolutely nothing different than just installing it from the play store and talking to my friends/family. There must be something seriously wrong here. Hopefuly i will be able to recover my usage rights.

it's ok for me, but they are banning ppl discretionary. my fb ac was just banned for "breaching" something too..... dxxx it

Sorry to here about the bans, thats horrible, i dont know if facebook/whatsapp does any custom rom validation, previously snapchat would do similar things when it detected root / spoofed signature, but not facebook apps, it might be a new policy change ? i am not sure really, i am using whatsapp on a rooted daily driver, however i do have magisk hide enabled (did not explicitly hid the apps tho)

maybe it is safer to enable magisk hide for facebook apps moving forward.

    hi all, @ananjaser1211,

anyone using work profile with this rom? recently i installed island but found that there are some problems with the main profile.

i cloned whatsapp into work profile but after a reboot or 2, the one in main profile didnt launched successfully upon boot by the boot completed broadcast but the one in work profile did started in the background and running properly. i have issued a ps command to see the running processes and it is confirmed that the one in main profile does not start properly. i then read the logs and found that both copies were called and tried to start during boot but for some reasons the whatsapp installed in the main profile failed to start after a few seconds without any error. no fatal error, no crash, nothing, just killed by the activitymanager. they both shared the same log entries except the main one being killed

note that this only occurs after i installed island, and before that everything is fine. i also tried to install shelter but the same thing occurs. and that it is not affecting whatsapp but other apps too, and also a reinstall of the rom didnt help

*** as to fix this, i manually send a boot completed broadcast to the WhatsApp's boot completed receiver in order to get it started probably in an init script

does anyone have the same problem?
Ill try it out next time im working on the device, had to take a hiatus as i am moving houses, it might be related to sdcardfs in the kernel, which had plenty of issues, ive resolved those last month but did not run builds yet, as i did not fix the random reboots some users face (especially two testers)

there have been significant changes done to the kernel and the device trees in late april to handle memory leaks, cpufreq issues and sdfat/sdcardfs problems and introducing LZ4 zram driver, i will try island on the new builds, and go from there.

to be complexly honest i forgot everything ive done in april rush ive had, so i need to go back and read what commits ive done, i think it was mostly GPS fixes and auto detection for 3G/4G models (for N910H support)

there is some iffy behavior in lineage regarding network bands, it defaults to LTE regardless of device support for some reason, meanwhile resurrections remix Q does not have these issues. i dont know, maybe it is better than i recommend using RR Q builds instead of LOS Q, once those are available, i have it running on my N910C and so far so good.

will see, i expect to put more work into the device this week once my internet is hooked up to the new apartment.

how is your N910U doing aside from island ? is the network stable, i did not follow up with the testers about it after fixing it

Hi, I install LineageOS 17.1 on my N910U, but it's not works for running apps that needs 64 bits OS (like Fortnite). Is this viable? LineageOS 17.1 is a 64 bits OS? I'm not sure. why I'm use 64 bits Checker is 32 bits OS? I hope someone can clarify it. thanks you.
This is a 32 bit device, so its a 32 bit OS

    hi

thanks for your reply. just keep your time and setup your new home first

haha, i can understand that. just a few weeks time i totally forgot what changes i have made before to the rom and kernel, it's normal and dont worry 😁

regarding the n910u, it's absolutely a beast! no network problem at all. the only thing i observed is the battery but i think it could be my battery's problem and i have ordered a new one already. so lets see

oh btw, i dono why but some times the settings could not be saved after boot like fast charging. and occasionally some changes i made to other apps were not persisted too. this is weird. but after i restored my rom backup or did a clean install then its fine

other than that i have no complaint at all

    keep up your good works!

    regards

    Hello , all Samsung's Exynos 5433 ,
I used this 17.1 but my battery life is nowhere near my oldest Roms .Many Thanks to this Dev for keeping our beloved Note 4 -N910C still alive. I used for years his Refined 3.5 and for 2 weeks am on this unofficial Anan Nugget 7.11 Rom that is beautiful and works flawlessly. I put exposed framework for rooting /v89-sdk 25 arm/ and it introduced some UI crashes and Samsung Experience Home restarts. Not a major issue is one time job every time after you restart your phone as it never happens again after that. Screen sometimes is delayed, blackening when you talk on the phone or slow wake up time trying to unlock the screen. Never figure that but otherwise i didn't notice any major drags or problems as it all working flawlessly. I would love to know if any UI customization's and Sensor Home Back and Resent button settings are avail to Nugget.

Battery life on this REFINED_NOTE8_7.1_T2 is very good i use exposed Greenify ,PowerNap and Amplify modules. Regrettably the module of FAST DORMANCY is not working on 7.11 Nugget (as it improves somehow the battery life by simply disabling the Fast Dormancy) Battery life is not EXCEPTIONAL like in my old Nemesys Refined v.3.5 but is still very good battery life in normal usage in my case 2 days.

Anyone knows what is the current state of progress on our N910? For Exynos 5433 is 64 bit CPU so do we have any 64 bit Roms available is it theoretically possible to be done if NOT why if YES what the benefit of that would be of such.

If anyone is interested on this REFINED_NOTE8_7.1_T2.zip 7.1.1. Unofficial Nugget Rom here's the link.
This is only for N910C and i flashed it by Recovery 3.3.1.0
    1
how should i install it? what is the installation method?
its been a long time i haven't installed new roms on my note 4 and i have forgotten everything about custom roms 🤔
    I did this:
1). I downloaded Lineage + FakeDeviceInfo(the header says what it is for), OpenGApps(optional, but better than Pico), Magisk, BusyBox(I don't have one from Magisk, but another one, if I need a link), the last TWRP.
    2). I copied everything into one folder on a memory card(say MicroSD/XDA).
    3). First I updated TWRP.
4). I went to TWRP and selected "Selective cleaning" in the "Wipe" item.
5). There I left a checkmark everywhere except MicroSD and deleted everything(with a swipe to the right).
6). I returned to TWRP back(home screen ) and opened the "Installation" item and selected the Lineage firmware there and swipe to the right. After installation, I cleaned Dalvik-Cache and rebooted it into the system.
7). Then I installed Magisk(I think you can do that). :) I also patched the kernels for Magisk v23(it also works without this, but still I wanted so).) You can not patch.)
8). After installing Magisk and reopening TWRP in the "Installation" item, I selected GApps and with a swipe to the right + cleaned Dalvik-Cache and rebooted into the system.
9). So I installed the further through Magisk FakeDeviceInfo and BusyBox.

    LineageOS 17.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910C/H/U/S/L/K | N915S/L/K | N916S/L/K)

    --> Personal Notes <--
20210308 Update : I have released N910U builds with full sim support, they are available in the download section Sim calls / Data and SMS were all tested. it should be at the same level of bugs as other models now

    F.A.Q And Notes

    Q: N910H wont detect SIM / network
A: This is due to it trying to force LTE, workaround can be found here , forcing network to 3G will make it work fine for now

Q : High Quality in instagram stories etc ?
A : You need to flash FakeDeviceInfo magisk module (which means you need magisk) . when instagram detects our device, it sends low quality video, the patch tricks it into thinking our device is Galaxy tab which plays back max quality\

Q : Korean variants (S/L/K) have tube / robotic audio in calls
A : this bug is unfixable for now as those models rely on stock audio hardware effects to fix this issue, but we cant use that and open source H/W does not support them

Q : How to enable android 10 gestures
A : First you need to enable navigation bar (this will disable touchkeys) then go to gesture settings and enable full screen gestures

Q : Recommended camera app to use ?
A : This Google Camera : Download or Footej2 from the play store

Q : When registering FP, i dont see progress or vibration
A : It is fine, keep enrolling your finger, and at the end it will show you pass. this seems to only happen with first enrollment

Q: Whenever I try flashing any lineage- build, I get the following error in TWRP: Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
A: Update your TWRP to 3.2.3 or higher available Here or newer

Q : Device is too warm
A : After first boot that is common, let the phone finish setting up and cool down

Q : How to get google apps ?
    A : Go to Opengapps.org . Select ARM > 10 > [your choice] and flash opengapps*.zip after the ROM.zip

    Q : How to get Root ?
A : Flash Magisk Root From Here

Q : How to tune the kernel ?
    A : use HKTweaks app from @corsicanu : Github

LineageOS 16.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910C/H)

    --> Personal Notes <--
Alright, it took alot of work and effort, but finally our device is running Android Pie in a state that is considered "usable" by myself and the testers, There is still alot of room for improvement but for now the current C/H build is good enough. S/L/K and U builds will follow later after the C/H one is tested, and while i get myself a server.
This project is only possible due to the awesome people who helped me get my foot into AOSP development, which is very different from what im used to, in no particular order, Thanks @Lunarixus , @ripee , @Stricted (especially for commits that fixed RIL) @tripLr , @bonuzzz and many others from various communities who helped indirectly by sharing their device trees on github.

I will continue to work on Lineage 16.0 and hopefully Lineage 17 in the future. i am enjoying AOSP more than TW at the moment.
expect other flavors of AOSP Pie to come out, i was going to release Havoc but it seems to have a problem with incallui when you install gapps. so im skipping that for now.

if you appreciate the effort behind this, dont hesitate to leave a thanks, provide constructive criticism and maybe consider donating some "totally not illegal stuff" over at my paypal

--> Quick Notes about this project <--
    • Starting from Lineage 16.0 , we enter Stable stage.
    • only the N910C/H versions are tested by myself
    • And only the C/H versions are available for now
    • Dualboot patcher support is added, install this rom as primary as always.
    • The kernel is fully customizable using HKTweaks by corsicanu : Github

    --> Known Bugs <--
    • AVC Encoder/Decoder is broken, therefore Stock camera app (and possibly some 3rd party cameras) will not record video. Use Footej Camera instead
    • OMX is not that stable in general, expect youtube to hang sometimes at anything above 720P
    • Hardware composer is broken, meaning we will fall back to GPU rendering for layers (possibly more lag and drain)

    Few words to say.

Our device is beyond capable in the right hands. This is something to look for in the far future when lineage 17 is more stable. obviously its extremely early for Q, as we are the 3rd or 4th Exynos SOC to boot it yet, and for the first time we actually ran lineage before the snapdragon variants. so there is that W

This is thanks to help directly and indirectly from stricted and lunarixus, great guys both of them.

Our device wont die on Pie
