Hello. Thank you for this great update for our old devices. I'm having an issue starting the whole process since I can't find a way to unlock OEM in my 910U. Can I still flash the TWRP and update via Odin without unlocking? And if not, is there any method to follow? I've tried many things like fastboot (which doesn't detect the phone), recovery mode (using reboot to bootloader via recovery only reboot the device), and of course, developer settings, which doesn't show the necesary option to unlock OEM. Any help is apreciated (and excuse the novice questions)

Hello mate, the note 4 is so old it never had OEM lock option, you need to use a tool called ODIN to flash images such as TWRP Recovery.

since it is the first time you are flashing a recovery, you will use the ODIN option, ignore the part about encryption unless you plan on using encryption with this ROM. the note 4 also does not ship out of the box with encryption enabled (so you dont have to format data at all after installing TWRP, as opposed to modern android devices)

Regarding how to install the ROM itself, just download the latest lineage (or RR OS) build from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/galaxy-note-4-exynos/files/LineageOS-17.1/

If you want google apps, they are linked at the first post of this thread, people have been facing issues with opengapps, which is not surprising, so you should use bitGapps instead.

if you want root, flash Magisk aswell

I have video recording problems:
1. Google camera app force closed when switch to video mode.
2. Other camera apps can't not be pause or stopped when start recording. I had to close the apps to stop it.

If you have the latest stock rom version like Marshmallow then no need to.

I managed to install it, it's great so far! To install Magisk I only have to copy the boot.img file to my phone and then patch the file with Magisk Manager? Nevermind, managed to root aswell. This is awesome! Great job! One more question: How does BitGApps affect RAM consumption? I only need G-mail and G-drive active, maybe YouTube too; is it possible to only use those apps or will I have to install extra stuff?

Hi. After some time with this ROM on, the only complaints I got are the usual battery and wifi signal. Also, the phone heats much more than before. But I'm writing now mostly because a while ago I restarted my phone because i thought the wifi was slow and then it entered in bootloop out of the blue. Any suggestion as to what could I do?

It has video recording problem, it stop responding after you start recording video. Stock camera, google and open camera got this issue. Only Footej camera works. Taking photo is still fine.

I have 2 phones. Poco X3 Pro and it's SGS4. I decided to update the firmware and I see you mind?) Now eRobot v1.2 is installed and then it's better to return the backup and not bother with Lineage.

Ive been seeing few reports of SIM and reboot issues, please follow the guide down here https://github.com/universal5433/android_device_samsung_trelte-common and open new issues here https://github.com/universal5433/android_device_samsung_trelte-common/issues with the appropriate log files (log_ril for sim issues, log_kmsg for hard reboots , log_all for misc bugs) and upload /data/log and data/tombstones.

just make a new issue with the correct details so i can take a look at it, i cant fix a bug with no information, i will be doing some updates in July and it would be great to have an idea on what needs work

Our Note 4 is as old as that, all the data in it is old.
If you have not installed stock firmware for a long time, it is better to install the latest stock firmware (with a Pit file, this is in order to clean the memory) and then install TWRP and remove the stock firmware through it and install Lineage or RR. Then it is not important to install bootloader.
I haven't tried the latest Lineage, what exactly doesn't work in it?

Excuse me, I'm asking here. Will you no longer update Havoc? There are no plans to update this beauty? I really like this firmware. It's a pity he also had serious mistakes. Nougat is also awesome firmware, but there's trouble there at all. com.phone pops up frequently, and then the connection disappears. I'm really sorry for making this sound like some "wen ETA" comment, didn't mean it.
Is there any technical issue that is preventing from our phone to run LOS 18 (Android 11) or LOS 19 (Android 12)?
I've seen many phones being discontinued for some reason for 11 and 12, maybe because of the works being required for the latest trees, I don't know, I'm just curious.
LOS17 might lose security updates soon (or did it already?), and our device can get slowly outdated soon..

That all depends on the original propreitary blobs that can never be updated from Samsung. Some blobs can be made to work with newer Android versions, while others cannot. If it's a critical blob like the graphics driver, then it may not be possible to get higher version of Android.

Android 10 (LineageOS 17.1) is still getting monthly security updates. The June 5th, 2022 patches were merged on June 24 as per

"Because no one has actually voted representing that it *functions* correctly. Saying it builds is hardly helpful because I test that before uploading.

Android 10 will likely get monthly security patches for the rest of 2022. Once Android 13 is released, Google usually only does security patches for the current release and current release - 2 generations. That is, Android 13, 12, and 11.

Having said that, there may be someone who backports those security patches to Android 10 just like how they are being backported to Android 9 at

Hello good people, because delivery app glovo curirer having problem on my stock rom n910c (active map not working and no orders), am forced to try some custom rom or buy new phone... i need reliable rom i had lineage os 16 back in days on my S4 and it worked amazing... but i cannot find Lineageos 16 on forum for n910c? I read this version (LineageOS 17.1) cannot dual boot, but can LineageOS 16 dual boot if exist? i have TWRP and ROOT but i don't want rid of original stock rom completely because Gear VR support...

I failed to install dual boot with lineage os 16 and i end up installing latest Lineage os 17.1.
Soo far soo good ^_^ thank you sir! ananjaser1211 you saved my job... glovo courier app now working normally.
One thing is missing i so used to samsung music player this audio player does not even have folder option...
is there any way to bring original samsung music player to lineage os?

Edit2: for no notification light restart fixed it, i think low battery trigers led stop working...
for music after seacrhing i finally found great music player called "Musicolet Music Player" It is amazing, no ads, easy finding songs and playlist managment, great EQ i love it ^_^

Edit:3 Found new problem:
When i use speakerphone option when viber call other people complain they cannot hear me good... i cleaned all 3 mic holles and does not help... maybe a litle... now in mixer_path_0.xml i don't have idea which mic to edit volume.... there are main mic, sub mic, third mic and headset mic... idk which mic for speakerphone viber app using...

Edit4: "Include VR Support Pacakges" do i need to activate it? Samsung gear when connected does nothing, and vr apps like "Sites in VR" its all messed up (left - right position) and moving head is not working good...

The sound quality in the online video call is very low.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. AFAIK this vendor blob stuff was one of the reasons why our device doesn't go to mainline LOS, because of those non-PIE blobs?
Anyway, we might have luck, seeing some older mobos like S3 or S2 getting it..
