How To Guide F711U and F711U1 Firmware Links and Flashing Discussion Here

Sorry for a potentially idiot question, but I have 2 phones in my household both as unlocked SM-F711U1. My software is "up to date" according to the software update within android and trying to manually update with the samsung smartswitch app via windows on both phones.
I am trying to get esim to work, which apparently should work with the updated software per this post https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-3-flip-3-usa-esim-support/
Problem is, I don't have the F711U1UEU2DVEE version, it looks like I have the F711U1UES2CVD4. Do I just have to wait longer for the newer software to show up as available? I'd love to not have to manually flash these.

Is the DVEE update not coming to my particular type of flip3, or will it come later automatically if I'm patient?
Alternately (I'm not familiar with flashing modern phones) if I do have to flash is there a way to it that will preserve my apps and settings without it being wiped? And if I flashed does it still automatically update later? I've read a fair amount about flashing and even tried at one point on a different phone and had some problems...

Mine didn't fetch it automatically. OTA will eventually come, probably a newer one at July 1 security patch.

I manually did this for esim capability.

Hi. Sorry if I may have made any mistakes, I am new to this. I have a Verizon SM-F711U Flip 3 that I bought second-hand recently. I tried to use my existing AT&T sim card inside it but it rejected it with a "carrier change" message. I contacted Verizon and they told me the device was unlocked and fully paid off. Based on what happens it seems like the device isn't unlocked, but even after contacting them multiple times, they all say on their servers the device's IMEI is shown as unlocked.

I've flashed U1 firmware which removed the Verizon bootscreen and bloatware, and initially it seemed like it accepted the sim card considering it connected to 4G and allowed me to make calls and messages, but about 5 minutes later it displayed the same message saying "carrier change not supported" and disconnected from network. The service provider software version still shows VZW/VZW/VZW

Would flashing ATT U firmware fix this by any chance, or is there something else I could try?

If it said "you're not allowed to use another carrier at this time" and provided Verizon's 1-800 numbers, then that means the phone is still SIM locked to them

1. Yes, it will come via OTA eventually

2. If you want to manually install it, yes, you can do so without factory resetting

3. Yes, future OTAs should still work fine, if you manually flash

Of note, my 2 phones updated today OTA to DVEE and now have esim.

Interesting it dropped today.
If I want the most updated I have to manually grab it and esim was essential.
Now it's just security updates mostly.

@yygemmi770 , I saw you were having the same issue I was with the VZW not switching even after a flash. Did you ever figure out how to resolve this?

It is currently a verizon phone I'm trying to switch completely to Tmobile including their bloat. Here's what I have done.

1. I flashed a TMB version of the same build but its just booted as Verizon still. I got a message saying the sim was not for Verizon but everything worked.
2. The next thing I did was flash the latest U1 Tmobile version. I now got the no Verizon boot screen and no more sim message. However it still says vzw for the csc.

Were you able to figure this out? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: FYI I used the SamFW FRP tool to change the CSC and it worked perfectly.

EDIT: FYI I used the SamFW FRP tool to change the CSC and it worked perfectly.

I was able to get the CSC to change on stuck units by using Chimera Tool. This was the only successful way I was able to do it, as the normal flashing procedure would not work.

Yes that is a paid program, but I use it within our company. There are probably a number of different tools that can accomplish it now. Looks like sometime around May or April the solution was found and coded into these programs.

Oh that makes sense. I was happy that it worked. The other methods seemed very difficult.

Honestly couldn't thank you enough lol. The SamFW FRP tool finally got my CSC to change to ATT and now my ATT sim works in my Verizon flip 3

If we flash HOME CSC and don't Flash USERDATA, will this be successful in converting to unlocked firmware and still keeping previous data intact, any issues? Thanks.

1. USERDATA isn't present in U1 firmware

2. I've seen a recent-ish post from someone claiming that flashing HOME instead of the regular CSC worked (although I think it was on a different model). So you can try it, but make sure to have all your data backed up just in case the phone bootloops and you need to factory reset

No, because anyone can get the firmware themselves via Frija and other sources
