Viaero D801
Hey,
I just bought a used like new D801 G2, and when it showed up it wasn't running stock T-mobile like I'd been expecting, but firmware from another carrier called Viaero. What I'm hoping to be able to do is flash it to a T-mobile stock rom but I don't know if that's a wise choice given that my earlier research turned up that some carrier's G2s (I think it was Claro or Ciero) react very poorly to being flashed to T-mobile. Also, if I'm able to flash to T-mobile, can I just flash to the latest ROM (given it's T-Mobile and 32GB) or is there a specific one I should be using as a base and just OTA update from there?
The case shows it's LG-D801, the hardware info in the About Phone section also shows LG-D801.
Android version is 4.2.2
Baseband version is M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190034
Kernel version is 3.4.0
Build number is JDQ39B-D801-4.2.2-VIA-111113-1.7.0
Software version is D80110c
Thanks so much!
Edit: I gave up on waiting for an answer and just went for it. If anyone else comes across this with the same question, yes, you can just flash the latest (or at least 5.0.2 at the time I'm writing this) T-mobile ROM onto a Viaero 4.2.2 D801 with no problems. The LG Flash Tool (2014 version in my case) is very simple to use and it's near impossible to screw up if you follow diretions.
